Got some Vanilla and wanted to help out the person that got it for me with RR sours. How many RR bottles for one vanilla rye?

A lot, and it should include Beat.

edit: misread initial post... twice. o_0.

Send what you think is fair, erring on the side of hooking the guy up.

It's not clear if this is a trade Vanilla for RR sours, or if you're sending thank you bottles/extras.

Given that there's reportedly somewhere between 16000 and 27000* vanilla rye bottles, if the hype ever dies down, consider that when trading. But always hook up those who hook you up.

*numbers are from someone else but the math made sense.

Sorry was asking what kinda trade ratio should I get for trading Vanilla Rye for RR Sours? Not sure cost of the sours and how they would be valued against Vanilla Rye

Sours are $13 for a 375 bottle at the brewery... Beatification is more, I think $18? (someon correct me if I'm wrong..) and it is much harder to come by... Currently Vanilla Rye holds considerably more value... but I'm sure that will fade over the net month or two... Good luck op

Latest batch was released Dec 2013 and was ~6000 or 7200 bottles for $18 each, batch 6.
I think batch 5 was in the 2-4k range in March 2012. Batch 4 was small in Dec 2011 iirc.

I think three normal sours or one normal and one Beat would be in the fair range, but I was not impressed by Vanilla Rye and I think people are overestimating the rarity. GI filled 200 barrels, right?
But at current "trade value" it could probably pull 4-6 normal sours and two Beat.

The important thing is to hook up trading partners and enjoy the hobby.

    where'd these numbers come from?

I was under the impression b6 was approx. 1,000 cases, which would equate to 12,000 bottles

I think you're right, I think I just got mixed up with another release with my midnight response.
IIRC it was 1000 cases of bottles produced, but some were held back for events, etc.
My point in responding in the first place was that Vanilla Rye seems to be so rare is because it's spread over half the nation. But it's pretty high bottle count. Locally rare, nationally large release.

I did this 4:1 including Beat. Had offers of 5&6:1 but included some multiples. I was looking for Beat and variety. The amount of messages I had was nuts.
