That sounds about right (although I'd be OK w/ Sweet Action instead of The Crisp...gasp!). I'd also like to try a Sixpoint interpretation of tropically hopped APA/IPA.

Otter Creek is by far my favorite variety pack.

You can't really go too wrong with a variety pack from any well regarded brewery, as long as the beers aren't old they are usually a pretty good value.

Just purchased the Sixpoint Boombox at it is a great value for tasty beers. Resin is a little tough to drink but the others are great. I mix the resin with other beers to tone it down.

If nothing else, this thread has reminded me to pick up a Yards variety pack. The pack with the three Ales of the Revolution is pretty good, too...at least if you have a palate for the Tavern Spruce.

I think Crisp and Jammer are suitable ones for a summer pack. You still get some hops, and some sour/salt....but what to do for the 3rd?

Jack - that might be the answer to the 3rd beer. Maybe even a Helles style? Crushable lager + hoppy pils + Gose

I think the consensus is Jammer + Crisp + something new....trying to figure out what that new addition should be

    we're working on it...

Ok, we'll include that Crisp....but I think for this one it would be better to have 3 beers instead of 4.....

Tavern Spruce is the reason I never get that pack. :stuck_out_tongue: Although a sip of Tavern Spruce every once in a while reminds me of how good it is to live in a time when brewers are not forced to bitter their beers with hop alternatives like spruce, juniper, etc.

Randy, I am with you here. I can't abide Tavern Spruce Ale. It reminds me of Listerine.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

Ballast Point's Costco 24-Pack Variety was awesome. 26 bucks.
I am also secretly enjoying the variety in the Sam Adams Winter Classics.

Why? I always like to try new things and often find treasures in these boxes. My brother in law always brings one from somebody and they rapidly disappear. To me, it's a good change up.

Most of the time they contain one new beer, the rest are available in 4- or 6-packs year round.

I was very impressed with Straub's Sunshine sample pack this summer. Great beers flying completely under the radar! I was at my local distributor last night and did not see Straub's fall/winter Legacy pack.... I will expand my search for it.

Me too! I thought the Hefeweizen was OUTSTANDING! I enjoy drinking the Straub Hefeweizen even more than Weihenstephan.

    Cheers!

I usually like the Sam Adams winter variety pack, especially to get Old Fezziwig. Hope they get rid of the Chocolate Bock!
