Good point there! But if I can get those beers year round in 6 and/or 12-packs, what's the point then?

 

I generally pick up Saranac's 12/24 beers of Winter

 

Can't go wrong with SN and Stone variety packs. Recently, the Costco I frequent has Modern Times variety packs.

To not have to buy 6ers of each if you want to have a bunch of different beers I imagine is their goal.

 

In PA we get a mixed case that has 4 six packs, one each of Centennial IPA, Dirty Bastard,Founder's Porter, and the RyePA.

 

Be aware that the date on founders cases does not come close to the beer inside. When they say packed on they mean packed on , not bottled on. Pulled some ancient beer out of a 2 week old packed in case. Never heard back from Founders. I hate the bastard anyhow so a wasted mix pack in my mind.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for available variety packs?

 

Van Steenberge (the Gulden Draak guys) have an awesome variety 6-pack. It could vary somewhat, but they typically have Gulden Draak, Gulden Draak 9000, a couple of the Bornems, Piraat and Privateer--a great Belgium ale sampler. The last one I bought had a cool Gulden Draak keychain bottle opener in the carton as well.

 

Avoid the Vivant sampler. Meh.

 

Maybe too obvious, but I never regret getting the Sierra Nevada seasonal variety packs. They do a good job of adjusting the mix each time.

 

Get what U like, just make sure you check the dates. Bought a sampler from Starr Hill today and all of the IPAS were alreadt over 100 days old, sad!!

 

Got one from Southern Tier not too long ago. 2XIPA, Unearthly, and Gemini. Well wo r h the price of 26 dollars for the 12 pack.

hah, we'll incorporate that into it...but maybe not 6 of them :-)

Seems like the Crisp is a shoe-in for this pack, with Jammer making a strong second, then its a toss-up for the 3rd....we'll be investigating some styles....lots of possibilities!

 

Will be on the lookout. Right now diesel is not showing on Philly tap finder. I will make a trip to have a few when I see it.

I have to agree, variety packs usually suck. I wish they could come out with beer style samplers. I.e. - variety pack of just different kinds of stouts and porters. You could get a Irish, an English, a flavored etc.
