So I have never traded before, but I am really interested in getting started. But I am continually overwhelmed and confused as I go through the trading forum. So I was hoping I could ask a few questions in order to clarify some issues... So I can start drinking some new beers.

    1. What does $4$ mean? Why two dollar signs?

    2. I do I make a trade official? I responded to someone and they told me to make the trade official?

    3. I am using the app on my phone... Do I need to login on the computer to make trading easier?

    4. I am looking for a variety of beers that I do not have access to in Chicago... Am I allowed to post things like ISO a list... And then list various breweries in the thread? I am not trying to go whale hunting here...

    5. Once I confirm a trade. How long do I have to send out the shipment?

    6. How do I ship the beer? What company? Packaging? Tips?

Thanks in advance for the advice. I can't wait to start trading!

    1. Dollar for dollar, ex: my $20 years of beer for your $20 of beer
    2. Use the trading feature in the trading tab
    3. Yes IMO, just the use the site rather than app when doing certain things.
    4. Yes just be as specific as possible
    5. That's up to you and your trade partner, being punctual is key.
    6. Box, lots of bubble wrap, tightly fit, each bottle in a ziplock, or a bottle shipper

Google Alewatcher blog beer trading and look at the post. Or someone will inevitably link it here. It answers a lot of your questions and provides useful info.

Start slow, like one trade at a time. Many people get too ambitious and quickly get overwhelmed
