I am heading to Vegas from March 15 - 20 and was wondering what seasonals would be available and if Khouri's still does their tasting night on Wednesday's. I will bring some MI and OH goodies for trade and tasting. I will definitley be bringing 2013 Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th, Hopslam, Backwoods Bastard, Double Crooked Tree and Plead the 5th. I might also bring Yuengling, Maumee Bay Amarillo Brillo and Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout, Great Lakes Chill Wave, Fat Head's IPA and Brew Kettle White Rajah.
Not sure what will be hanging around then, but I'd love to set up another IP with you then. The share is still on for Wednesday's as well. See you soon.
Just an FYI for anyone looking to attend Khoury's on Wednesdays, there isn't an official weekly "tasting". Issa does try and coordinate special releases and tap events, with an occasional free tasting from brewery reps though, but its mostly just a popular hangout night for the regulars. He also has a food truck scheduled for most Wednesdays. The bottle share is still going strong, but please note that there is now a corkage policy. You can always buy any bottle you want in store and crack it at any time with no corkage. People are also allowed to bring beers into the store that aren't available for purchase in the state and crack the first one open for free. Its $5 for each additional bottle you want to share (unfortunately people were starting to bring coolers in and it was getting a bit out of hand). If you are looking to share a lot of beers, I'm sure there are some other BA's that are willing to meet up too.
Craig BM if you are interested in a IP trade..I got some Cali goodies FT.and some other stuff as well.
A bit out of hand is a fucking understatement. All it takes is one dick to ruin it. Issa was nice enough to let us bring in a bottle to share without charging people and of course, a very select few just completely shit on Issa's front door. It's disrespectful and I've told him multiple times i would have just asked that guy not to come back. But yes, wednesday's are still on even though i generally don't go that day! cheers!
I have no problem with the corkage fee, it is totally understandable, around here we can't do bottle shares at stores.
We can definitely set something up. I was able to get some Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th this year and have 4 available for trade.
