=( Why can't the Dallas Central Market have any of the Sucaba or Parabolas? I got a DDBA at Specs yesterday, opened it tonight. Very good, gonna try to find another one tomorrow.

FW just recently began distribution in Houston, they did the same (had Sucaba/Parabola/XVI) when they rolled out in DFW earlier in the year.

Damn... any chance any of those scuba might be left at the central market today? I don't work too far from there and a bottle would be worth the small detour on my way outta here today around lunch time...

    It's already come and gone.

I'm guessing we may see a keg of this at TX Brewvolution. I know Chad won't let the cat out of the bag yet, but any takers on that theory?

I am going to have to push some people over to get this beer!

It's on my GF's short list of must try beers.

I talked to the Texas Firestone rep at Central Market yesterday. He said they ran into a snag with TABC label approval for Velvet Merkin(bottles)...kegs were already approved though... anyways they were gonna roll out kegs for Austin Beer Week and bottles should be available around then.

Man I'm excited about velvet merkin! OATMEAL STOUT LIFE!

Also, been reading up about a beer they brewed called PNC that looks to be part of the reserve series?
Any idea on what this is? Can't find any info about this anywhere?

The only way to try PNC this year is to fly to Cali and visit the brewery :slight_frown:

I'm not jazzed about Tequila aged beer anyways...

Plus the name of the beer reminds me of PNC Park. lol

Tequila in a stout... Not sure if it would work?

XVI was heavily influenced by PNC, specifically the tequila component. So if you liked that beer, I'd guess you'd like PNC.

Also Theortiz01, certain "publican" (whatever that means) bars like Toronado SD and SF and some Seattle bars and shops got PNC. I know several people that have had it in both SD and Seattle. Bottles did make it out for sale at certain places, but they're much more limited than usual FW special releases. I'd imagine you'll see more of this next year given the positive response.

Got the last Firestone barrel aged beer at central market. I hope this saves someone a trip.

OK, that's just what the rep told me, either way not coming to Texas.

Seeing as how Double DBA was released in July and it JUST got here I'm guessing we won't see Velvet Merkin until December...

TX is trying to reinforce the notion that aging beers is a good thing.

Between TABC and the distributors, aged beer from west coast is the norm.

I would like to know exactly what Stone does to get Enjoy by here so quickly vs. even their own other products? Perhaps they should apply their own standard consistently and then other breweries would provide similar pressure to stock their products as freshly as possible in the second most populous state in the country.
