I have a bottle of Lost Abbey Veritas 003. I drank my other V003 and as much as I appreciate it, I still haven't developed a palate for sours. Does anyone have an opinion on what the trade value of a Veritas 003 be? I'm looking to trade for a stout, preferably a ba stout, I just don't know where to start. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
It should land you a non-Vanilla, non-Pappy variant of BA Dark Lord pretty easily. Should also land you any version of BA Hunahpu's except for the bottled Apple Brandy version. Since those beers are mentioned a lot in the trade forums, that should give you a good gauge of what Veritas 003 is worth. However, IMO you're gonna have to find someone that really wants it to complete the vertical. I had 003 about 3 years ago and back then, it was already starting to taste lifeless and pretty muddled (though I'm not a huge fan of darker sours).

Why wouldn't it land a Pappy or Vanilla Dark Lord? At least in terms of the Vanilla the Veritas is much more rare and older. Of course you have to find the right person who wants that swap...
I agree that it wouldn't land a PVW DL or Brandy Vanilla DL. It may land Bourbon Vanilla though. I traded for one last May, giving up - DL 10, 11, 12, Baller Stout, and Black Tuesday '11. I really liked Veritas 003 and I'm not a fan of "dark" sours.
