Been thinking about this one for a while so what does it take? Any insight from those who have, traded or might trade one what will work to pry it away. Would something like BA Alpha Klaus with cherries + one of the following below work BA Hifi (b1 or b2) Wanderer Dark Horse King of the forest LP Guezue 08 (I think) Spontanale 750ml
It seems to me that the past few veritas beers have been released to a boatload of accolades and praise, but as time progresses a bit of that goes away and they come back down to earth a bit in both ratings and trading.
I attended the V10 release party last year and thought it was fantastic, fresh-tap. Just enough wood and fruit to tickle the palate. Opened a bottle six months later and all the flavor subtlety was gone, taken over by a sourness halfway between tart and vinegar. Thoroughly disappointed, I traded the remaining bottle for a 1976 Ford Pinto station wagon.
001-008 and 010 became more difficult to obtain further from the release (except 005 and 002 weren't actually released). I'm not sure how 009 characterizes the entirety of Veritas history.
I was being a bit flippant and taking a jab at the initial pedigree hype that 008 had and the blatant homerism that 009 had. Both of these beers became way more obtainable after the hype and homerism, respectively, died down. If 010 is actually as good as the reviews suggest, it'll be like 001-007 I'm sure.
Instead of starting a new thread so I can ask, I too would like to find a bottle of 010... Think this would work; Veritas 009 + pick 2 of the following; BA HiFi 2011 darkness 2012 darklord Bramble Rye Coffee BCS Or how about; FT: bourbon vanilla darklord + Veritas 009 + pick 2 from above list ISO: Isabelle, Beatification batch 3, and Vertias 010 Cheers
