I have across 2 bottles of Veritas and I am having trouble verifying the vintage. The only markings on the bottle is "009" marked on the side of the cork with Sharpie. The batch and bottle numbers on the back label of the bottle are blank and the inkjet date on the neck of the bottle has been rubbed off. Was V009 marked like this or should I be suspicious of this bottle? Let me know if you guys have any info on this. I have never had bottles of Veritas this old so not sure what the markings are supposed to look like.
From what I've read, older vintages do indeed have the batch number written on the cork. You should in fact have a genuine V009.
The only one I have written on the cork is 009. For some reason they wrote that batch number on the cork instead of the label. My 007's were on the bottle and my 013's and now 015's are also on the bottle. Don't really know the dates though
Same here. My 009 is also only on the cork. They must have gotten tired of writing out all of the info that year... Your bottle is legit. Cheers!
Or the flatness is to blame. This is the exact time the shit storm of flat beers came out and people were pissed about spending that much on flat beers. I remember starting a rant thread on it and it blew up. People were pissed
Your right, it wasn't the veritas I remember now, It was 750ml Angels Share bottles a year or 2 before that
