I'll be with my family staying in Burlington visiting family and skiing in Stowe in February. Looks like a number of breweries are closed including Hill Farmstead and Alchemist.

Wanted some beer advice on must stops in the area. Planning on Lawsons, Foam, Four Quarters, Burlington Beer, Frost Beer. Any beer stops or beer centric restaurants within 30-40 miles would be helpful (will be driving west for various kids acitivies).

Also what are some of the better bottle shops? I'm assuming Hill and Alchemist will remaining closed. Are they open for pick up?

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Alchemist is open for takeaway. HF says they'll be opening for takeaway on 2/9 and taproom the following week.

Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury is fantastic. Beer centric restuarants: Three Penny Taproom, Blackback Pub, The Reservoir, Prohibition Pig, The Bench, Doc Ponds, Mad Taco in Waitsfield (same food in Montpelier but takeout only I believe).

Lawson's taproom is awesome, definitely don't miss it.

I would recommend going to Zero Gravity too...Queen City is also right across the street.

Alchemist is in Stowe also easy to find in stores. In Burlington area - Farmhouse, mule bar, beverage warehouse

Alchemist has non-core beers on-site. At least one at all times and usually more on the weekends. They announce these releases on IG Thursday nights. They were also talking about reopening in the Winter but didn't set the date yet.

Von Trapp is right there too. They have great lagers and the taproom is good.

Lost Nation is an awesome spot if you're eating, it's a little north of Stowe. Their beer is also quite solid, but very available in stores so I'd say it being worth a trip is somewhat dependent on if you're trying to get lunch there.

Von Trapp is right down the street from Alchemist, also readily available at stores but very good beer and a really scenic spot.

Don't think the taprooms for either will be open in time, but Wunderkammer and Freak Folk are priorities to grab at CBC if you like mixed ferm stuff!

Things I'd prioritize: Farmhouse in Burlington (classic spot, perpetual HF tap), Foam, Lawson's and Mad Taco back to back, and Alchemist+Von Trapp+ one of Blackback/Reservoir/The Bench/Prohibition Pig for dinner. CBC to fill in the gaps if it's open while you're in Waterbury. Three Penny is a favorite but more out of the way since you're staying in Burlington. If HF is open in time for your trip you'll need a reservation fyi and those go weeks in advance so I'd follow them on instagram asap if it's a priority).

I really want to try Freak Folk and Wunder. Is CBC my best opportunity?

Unless Freak Folk is open by the time you come to VT (unlikely), chances of finding bottles at CBC or elsewhere are very very slim. Wunderkammer shouldn't be a problem as he distributes bottles to most good beer stores in the state.

For 2 excellent food & brewpub experiences, book a meal at Black Flannel in Essex, and Burlington Beer Co. As for Freak Folk & Wunderkammer, both are sometimes on tap at the Blackback in Waterbury - good food there, too!

Every beer I’ve had from black flannel has been great. Haven’t had the chance to go yet but next time we are up there that is #1 on my list.

Cheese and Wine Traders on Williston in South Burlington near the airport is a new favorite destination. went there primarily looking for cheese. great selection but if you go downstairs they have an impressive beer section.

Von Trapp beer hall is worth a visit. Food is pretty good. Nothing like the radish and pilsner combo.

Does anyone know who is currently carrying Wunderkammer? I will be in Burlington this coming Thursday and staying until Sat. Are there any beer releases or places specifically this weekend that I should Hit? Any advice is greatly appreciated !

You asked who was currently carrying W’s beer. That’s the list of places that carry it. There’s an actual list and you can see places that are close to Burlington to check.

The last release was on 2/1.

CBC Waterbury had Asklepian and one other (Fig. 4 maybe?) over the weekend. They also had two from Freak Folk.
