I'm not sure if this is allowed since it's not beer, but I figured I'd try since it's more of a travel thing than anything. Are there any good wineries etc to look out for while I'm up in in the Stowe area? The fiancé isn't a huge beer fan so I was hoping to get some local wine and mead to bring back as well as the beer I've done my research on. Thanks!

There's a website for Vermont Wine Council that I believe includes ciders & meads. They have an interactive touring map.

check out stowe cider, they easily make some of the best hard cider in the state. http://www.stowecider.com/

also, try to find lincoln peak wine in the stores, their marquette is my favorite! boyden valley makes some great wine too!

For wine: La Garagista. Pricey though, ~$30/750ml.

Citizen Cider (Full Nelson & Dirty Mayor). Their cidery is right next to Zero Gravity, Queen City & Switchback

I'd second Citizen Cider, their cans are easy to find throughout VT and Dirty Mayor is a good ginger cider. Other good options are Shacksbury ($$) and Champlain Orchards. Woodchuck makes a VT only product in cans called Local Nectar.

For Meads we have two, Groenfell and Artesano. Groenfell makes carbonated meads in six pack bottles. Artesano is more traditional but has been doing some carbonation as well.

Lastly I'd put a plug in for Ice Cider, which is essentially a desert wine that is made from frozen apples. Its distinctive and I'd recommend over most VT wines at about the same price point. ($20-$30/bottle)
