Planning on a trip up to Vermont from Philadelphia in late May or early June. Definitely hitting Hill Farmstead, Alchemist and the Montpelier Market for Lawsons. Looking for ideas on where to stay and any other breweries/pubs that must visits.

So much information about Vermont trips in this forum. Try doing a simple search first and see what you find. I would be shocked if your questions are not answered.

Definitely stop in Waterbury. Blackback, Prohibition Pig, and Reservoir are three pubs all across the street from each other with incredible tap lists and good food. (Seriously, Blackback burritos might be the best I've had on the east coast.) You'll definitely find HF stuff on tap there, probably Heady, and depending on the day Lawson's as well. Plus the Ben and Jerry's factory is right there which is a nice little $5 diversion.

Heady is easy to find if you use the list of deliveries on the Alchemist site. HF, while slightly middle of nowhere and about an hour from Waterbury is the easy stop, and if you hit it without a special release having just come out, shouldn't have too bad a wait. Not sure how weekends are there.

Lawson's is basically impossible to get unless you plan your Thursday/Friday around waiting for the delivery at one of the three spots listed on their site. If you really want to get some of their stuff, best bet is to base your trip around a weekend they have a farmer's market on Saturday morning.

Not beer related but the reason burritos are so good at black back is cause they're made by the best, Mad Taco. So be sure to check out The Valley too (mad river valley) or Waitsfield. Lawson's home base right up the road in warren and the warren store where he delivers Thursday. Lawson's also does Waitsfield farmers market on Saturdays every once and awhile. The OG mad taco is also in Waitsfield with a great VT tap lists and "best burritos". The alpine limo runs a beer tour from the mad taco Waitsfield that takes you to some graeat spots including the mad riiver distillery, farmstead, and lost nation. The local gas station VG also sells heady by the case during Tuesday deliveries.

The VT State Parks are excellent and have cabins if you are looking for some inexpensive lodging- but they tend to go fast of course.

If you've got a few bucks, stay at Trapp Family Lodge (the Sound of Music family's place) in Stowe VT.
From there you can visit their brewery on site, have a Dukkel; hit some of the great local pubs in Stowe.
Then its a short ride to Waterbury where you can hit Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Alchemist, Prohibition Pig,
    Craft Beer Cellar. If you have time maybe hop over Warren General Store for Lawson's Double Sunshine;
go to the Co-Op in Montpelier (State Capitol) for their great beer selection, and go to Three Penny Pub
rated as one of the top 100 pubs in the Country/World. If your a golfer, there are great courses in the area.

I`m assuming Heady shipments will not happen on Memorial Day. Do they usually get pushed back from Monday to Tuesday at Healthy Living and Route 7 Liquor?

Heading up there tomorrow am early for Warren then off to find heady and finishing at hill Farm.

Any chance of heady being left in the Waterbury area on Thursday? I'd rather not have to go over to Burlington.

    Thanks

Check CBC Waterbury - I was there around 7 and there were still some left, it'd be pretty much on the way anyway.

Village Market had a bunch last Thursday morning when I was there. It's a limit of two four packs per person.

I'm not sure if you're going to the Warren store for Lawsons but they said in their blog to not expect deliveries this week.

Hunger Mountain has been putting out their Lawson's at Heady Topper at 3 pm on Fridays. I read the Lawson's post to say that Spring Fever Session IPA would be at Co-Op, Warren and Bevie. 6th Anniversary Peril Imperial IPA, Permagrin Rye Pale Ale, and Double Sunshine only at the Warren Store.
