Before sending out your trades, just remember to ask yourself: what's in the box?

I think this goes unmentioned at times. Lines and winding roads can be a hassle, but the scenery makes things easier. I'm as friendly as the next guy, but don't always need to chat it up with other people in line (not in a misanthropic way, I promise) and the driving scenery is beautiful. If you just keep in mind you may have to wait in line (but not always), you may miss out on a beer (with very worthy substitutes) and the roads will be slow moving (but beautiful), it's all good.

Yes, will probably come off as rude, but since you used the word repeatedly...

It's intentions, not "intensions". If you're applying for a job with that brand-new masters degree, then you'll want your cover letter to have it spelled right.

Enjoy the VT beer. And like others said, no other IPA is worth trading Heady/HF/Lawsons for. Except Trillium.

If I want to try and score Heady on Saturday at Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, they usually drop it at 10am, whats a good time to try and get there?

In the early winter I was there about an hour early and was around 13th in line. Had to go through twice to get a case. The beer sold out in under 8 minutes. The line grew to over forty while I stood there in minutes. Just go over an hour early and wait in the car if first or just set up a chair and wait.

How embarrassing. I'm usually the grammar/spelling ****. Thanks. Not rude. And I'll enjoy them. Ipas just aren't my favorite style.

Maybe it's because it's closest to our place in Vermont, but I think Foley Brothers is a very cool place to visit, and the beers are terrific. Brandon is a nice little town as well. I wish Lawson's was open to visitors, it might bring more folks down the Rt 100 corridor, and not just up 89 and over to 7. Then again, maybe I'd rather avoid the traffic.

Doc's Tavern in Rochester has a great tap list, even if it doesn't have HF or Alchemist brews. JD's beer cave in Hancock has growler fills. Warren store has Lawson's on Thursdays. I'll be in Rochester for the 4th, as I am every year.

Man, I really wanted to write this exact message multiple times over the last few days. You worded it much more delicately than I did.

OP......for a kid new to enjoying good beer don't get caught up so much in what the location offers you in terms of trade value or IG photos that will make your friends jealous and paint you as some sort of cool as ice beer svengali. If you do, this hobby will turn into a chore. And that's just stupid.

Yeah, I'm not a kid. And I don't plan on uploading anything to my ig. And my friends don't like craft beer, and I'm not a douche, so even if they did, I wouldn't upload pictures for the sake of "making them jealous". And the reason I am thinking about trade is because ipas aren't my style. They're good, but not my favorite. Guess that makes me a hipster though. God forbid I have a different opinion. And so I made a spelling error. It was a mistake. I appreciate the guy above pointing it out in a non-douch way.

How does it work at Hunger Mountain? If you are there say 9am to grab a case of Heady Topper, you have to get back in line at noon for Lawson's? If so, does killing the time involve simply standing in line or any recommendations in the area what to do those few hours in between?

Just get the Heady at Hunger Mountain and then drive to the Warren Store for 10am, you will get more Lawson's and save time...

Question for the vt people here.....I am going to hill farmstead in a couple weeks and I know jasper hill creamery is also in Greensboro, can you buy cheese at their creamery? If not where can you find it?

I think I heard you couldn't buy it at the creamery, but I could be wrong. I always get mine at The Willeys store near HF.

My experiences of Vt have been positive (and frequent) and I dont love hops or IPAs.
I am totally in love with the HF saisons and Everett. We have visited Lost Nation so many times they know us by name. We have found and tried Backacre's Sour Golden ale. Other beers of note: Burlington Beer Company's Strawberry Whale Cake is a fun beer as is Foley brother's Ginger Wheat. Rock Art's Maple wheat is also a guilty favorite and last year's black currant saison was funky and bretty as heck. Simple Roots do an excellent Gose The Destructor and the elderflower Saison is awesome too. Four Quarters in Winooski does excellent different beers more of them than IPAs.
Zero Gravity has several none IPAs as does Queen City. Stone Corral is another brewery with a diverse range of beers.
Or if you are in the area try Hermit Thrush or just find them on tap everywhere, they are specializing in sour beers.
You can do Vermont without drinking IPAs though my husband makes sure those IPAs dont feel neglected.
And the OP has said he does intend to drink IPAs too.

Jasper Hill has no retail sales - state of the art production/aging facility. As mentioned, Willeys in Greensboro has best selection - and best prices around.
