Friday, drive from boston to waterbury and straight to the Alchmemist. 4 cases, thank you very much. Met a friend for lunch at the prohibition pig, Heady on Draft. Then over to the Blackback for some Abner and a Hill F. Saisson (honestly didn't get the name). Both were my first Hilll Farmstead beers. The Saisson was good, but not in the same leaque as the Abner.

Up to Burlington, Dinner at the Farmhouse, more Abner and a Breakfast stout for desert.

Sat, visited with some friends and then.. Lunch at Ken's Pub, cans of Heady, after lunch, Zero Gravity, for Narconaut, Helles, and TLA IPA, all outstanding. Dinner at a friends house and then back to the Farmhouse for some Hill F. Edward and Stone anniversary Ruination....

Sunday back to boston to dry out.

    Ooof.

Check with the Alchemist on case limits.

I bought 4 cases on Friday, no problem($300...maybe a slight problem, but well worth it) They told me that the case limit is something they enact from time to time, depending on inventory. No hard and fast rule.

What days are you guaranteed to score some HT? Don't want to waste a trip.

I got there at 11:30 on Friday, pouring rain and the parking lot was full.I noticed were, two good sized truckloads of cans on pallets, ready to go to retail/restaraunts. Not a huge place by any commercial standard. I think they start limiting sales as the inventory decreases. Another note on Heady is that it seems to be in more bars in Burlington, than listed on the Alchemist website. Ken's Pizza for one. Local Burlington friends seemed to think it was becoming more and more prevalent

Thanks for the replies. Would Tuesday afternoon be a good time? Less people, more cases?

If I went Saturday morning when they opened, what are the odds of HT being there?

I would think so. I certainly wasn't the only masshole in the parking lot on Friday. Another note If your planning on eating/drinking in Waterbury, it seems like only the Prohibition Pig is open for Lunch at the moment, the reservoir opens at 3ish as does the Blackback

I don't believe the pig is open for lunch on Tuesdays.

FWIW, my last few Heady runs have been late in the day on Monday. I've gotten there the last couple times at 6 p.m. and been literally the only person there. Walked in, had a taster, walked out with a case...4 minutes tops. Leaves more time for stopping into Blackback.

If you're even remotely local, Monday night is a great time to go. (They close at 7)

You should be good on Tuesday afternoon. I mean, it's possible that they COULD be sold out then, but a lot less likely than if you were there on a Saturday afternoon.

That's correct. The pig does lunch Friday-Sunday. Otherwise I think they open at 4. The Rez does lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

    That's true.

I was up there with some buddies about a month ago, and they sold out at 5:15 on Friday night. Every weekend is different though.

Yeah, for sure. On busy weekends they definately sell out on Friday. Saturdays not ideal odds, but they almost always are sold out by like 1 or 2 on saturday.

My advice - wait until it snows then get in your 4WD and take a road trip.
