Fresh beer says the bottles have an enjoy by date but mine didn't. Both Storm King and Hop Wallop had 7 or 1 followed by 0111234b then SK had 11401 and HW had 12228. Anyone know what these codes are? Thanks.

The date used to be on the label but now it says the date is etched directly on the bottle in MM/DD/YY format. Keep searching. The codes you describe are apparently for something else.

Victory is pretty active on facebook if you use it. If you're really curious you can always send them a message.

    Yeah, what "otis" said.

The previous printing on the labels (in white ink) left something to desired, but the new "etching" on the glass itself near the shoulder is even worse. You might have to look through an entire case's worth of sixpacks to figure out all the characters. (Of course, I typically buy Victory products - Prima, HopDevil and Lager - by the case, where it's printed in old fashioned 19th century tecnology of ink stamped on cardboard).

The numbers your quoting sounds like the bottle mfg'r's coding, which is typically near the bottom 1" or so from the base.

Thanks, I found it using an LED flashlight. Enjoy by Jan 2,2014. It doesn't have a lot of flavor left. I should have looked closer, but I've never seen Hop Wallop (SK, Prima Pils, & HopDevil we have) , so I took a chance because I had wondered what bottle conditioning would do for IIPA. I look forward to trying this fresher.

Yeah, their 1 year out 'best by' on Hop Wallop is ridiculous. Especially for a self-proclaimed "Hop Wallop"-- it only is as such before the hops fade after a few months.

It seems that all or most of the bottles are best by 1 year. With some like old ho and storm king best by 5.

Damn, that bottle still has about a half a year of shelf life and is already a mess. I have long considered Victory's bottled on code a joke because of this.

On a side note their new IIPA sounds dank but I will probably buy a few cases when it's released and then scroll past like Hop Wallop.

Does DirtWolf fall into the 5 month 'enjoy by' range?

Thanks for the response. Just bought a few four packs that would have been bottled about a week ago!
