You drove to the brewery and they sold you a keg that was within weeks of the brewery's own "Enjoy by" date? I wouldn't have worried about, since there's no way I would have bought it. I mean, if one can't find fresh (under a month since racking) beer at their own facility, what's the point?

I have to echo @JackHorzempa and @jonphisher and it's now one of my favorite new local and widely available Lagers.

And Summer Hazy Love is getting good reviews already so it looks like it's definitely worth trying.

At what Wegmans did you see Classic Lager?

No I was referring to someone posting about Victory Hazy Summer Love - I almost got that beer at Wegmans. I then almost bought the Classic Lager at Supersaver in Somerville, which I also stopped at because I forgot ice at Wegmans. Accidentally misleading.

IDK why victory took home grown lager out the 15 packs but they lost me. I previously was able to get home grown in 15 packs as well but that also disappeared

Somerville Super Saver* is just as good and almost as close for me! Thanks for the tip on Classic!

That place is a little frustrating with some of their dust collecting 2 and 3 year old beer, but it was the only place I found Barrel Aged Narwhal.

I saw that Narwhal the other day! Didn’t get it but I did consider it.

Home Grown is no longer being made, but Somerville Super Saver probably still has some.

They have it at Buy Rite West Deptford. It showed up on their website late last week I think.

I did pick some Victory Classic up today. Plus, they had a new mix 12 pack of Jack's Abbey just canned - Hoponius Union plus Citra Brau, Nelson Brau and Galaxy Brau. Sorry, I know it's a Victory thread but Rob might be interested if he's going there to get the Classic.

I loved HG and was so sad to see it disappearing from the lineup. You can still get it at the brewery for now, though.

I need to try more JA beers, I have only had a few and everything so far I have liked.

I keep forgetting about this beer and will try it at some point. Hopefully it doesn't sicken me like Twisted Monkey did, one of the few beers I have drain poured after just a few swigs...and I love Mango.

I wonder how different this really is from Summer Love. Slightly higher ABV (5.5% vs. 5.2%), but same hop and malt varieties. They don't list an IBU for Summer Love, but it can't be much different than the 25 listed for Hazy Love.

At first glance, this looks like a slight tweak just to capitalize on the "Hazy IPA" popularity and the established "Summer Love" branding.

Correct! I understand there was an oat addition which pumped up the alcohol content.

I owe you a big thanks for helping me locate Classic. I swung by Super Saver this morning and picked up a 15-pack.
You would think after their renovation months ago that the beer aisles would be a little easier to navigate. After a few minutes of trying to find a Classic 15-pack, I finally found it at the end of an aisle... stacked beneath five other 15-packs of course. So I had to remove each of the other packs one by one to get to the Classic pack. Ridiculous.

Appreciate @jonphisher @JackHorzempa @rotsaruch @ESHBG and anyone else I missed taking the time to post their thoughts on the beer. Not many beers I would blindly purchase a 15-pack of, but based on your reviews and my past experiences with Victory lagers I'm sure it will be delicious. Going to crack one tonight if they chill in time! :beers:

I grabbed a 15 pack today, too. I was hesitant to get a 15 pack because 15 of a beer I havent tried?!? For your same reasons (good word of mouth here, me being a Victory fan) I bought it. Trying it tonight.

That renovation at Super Saver was nice and needed, but clear aisles lasted about two weeks. Too bad they brought back in the older, beyond fresh beers and didn't renovate the "friendly" attitude for the people whonwork there.

Reporting back on my Victory Classic purchase. Definitely a repeat purchase this summer. There are some local lagers I’ve had recently that are a bit showier and more flavorful but this one is perfect at the price for the amount you get and the drinkability factor. Great summer beer. In fact, I’m just drinking one now on my covered porch listening to thunder.
