To clarify - I meant it was crazy that White Monkey was priced at $20. Not that people were complaining.

Although of all of Victory's beers, Golden Monkey probably ranks dead last for me - which I know I'm in minority since it's their best selling beer supposedly.

Smart move going to 4 packs. There is still plenty of Java cask 2016 bombers on the shelf for ~$20. Guess they want to find that sweet spot for pricing where it will sell.

Love Java Cask, wayyyyy under the radar which is good. The Rye variant was incredible as well last year! Probably my favorite BBA Coffee Stout.

Yes! Beautiful BBA stout, one of the few I've had that rivals BCBS. And I love that it will be in 12 oz bottles. No beer over 12% should come in a bomber, imo.

Wednesday, 11/8, Java Cask at 14.3% abv was on tap at the D'town brewpub. A 4-pk of 12-oz bottles were selling for $30. It's a might tasty brew. Another variant of Java Cask and a sour will be released on Dark Wednesday, 11/22.

Just had the Java Cask Rye with Vanilla on draft and it was amazing, the vanilla isn’t too much and just puts it a little sweeter than the Rye from last without losing any of that great rye flavor.

Have not had this but will be on the lookout as it seems Cali might get some. Wondering how it will stack up against Lagunitas High Westified (other than double the price )?

Double the price?......try almost 4x the price. The 750's are still floating around from last year at $15-16. Not sure why the 12oz price is so high.

High west was $2 a bottle. I bought a full case for $18 more than this 4 pack.

    Huge pass for me.

    Enjoy

I popped in here to see if there would be a variant. Do you know what it is? Vanilla rye?

I had Java Cask for the first time last Thanksgiving. Popping open a bottle of the Rye Java Cask tomorrow for round two. I'd love to keep this train rolling. A tasty dark, coffee beers works well for the day.

Why do they call it Cask when it's from a bottle? I don't get it.

    $30 for a 4-Pack? Damn that's pricey.

If this hits southern CA then I will definitely pick up a four-pack.

    It's aged in whiskey casks.

We've gotten it the past couple years why would we not get it this year?

Java Cask is certainly a fantastic beer, but the $18-20 (750ml bottle) price tag made it a 'one and done' purchase. I too am curious about their pricing for the 4-Pack. If I needed to venture one, my guess would be ~$25 for a 4-Pack.

However, Victory really disappointed me this year with their pricing of the re-release of White Monkey...$20 (750ml bottle) around me in NJ. That was a HUGE increase from the last time it was available back in 2014...I was purchasing bottles for under $10...and it was readily available!

Amen on the White Monkey pricing, that was a real shock to me. Obviously 3 years might bring a slight uptick, but nearly doubling the price didn't sit well with me. Sad, because it is a pretty tasty beer. Also was a little shocked at the Chardonnay Sour Monkey, though that was a first time beer so there wasn't a past price to compare to. That beer though was just fair for me. Not great, not awful.

I do want to get some Java Cask this year and applaud the move to 4/12s, but already passed on one that would've been $30+ after tax. Steep.
