    IMHO...

BCBS > KBS > Java Cask > SMS

Am I the only one who thought SMS was terrible? I opened a bottle 3 separate times over the course of a few months and I couldn't finish a single one.

I think SMS is the definition of a "love it or hate it" beer. I had a growler before the bottles were released, loved it so much I bought a case. I kept 4 to age and will buy another case when it comes out in February. With that said, I have heard a lot of people, both on BA and FB, strongly dislike the beer. To each their own.

FWIW, the beer gets a 4.31/95 on BA. That tells me you're probably in the minority.

Hey @Donco - this is on shelves in Delaware now. I picked up two bottles for $15.25 each.

While he may not have hated it, I'm guessing the guy above didn't love it.

Was it the booziness? If so, I can see that...I happen to love big crazy boozy messy beers (except for the ones made by DFH)...so I loved it...but can see why some wouldn't for that reason.

I did notice some bottle variation with SMS personally. I did not enjoy one of the bottles at all but the rest were very good.

You're not the only one. I was initially bummed that I only got two bottles, but after both turned out to be boozy, estery drainpours, I was relieved that I didn't still have two more bottles on hand.

Not the booziness, for me it was the coffee. All I got from that beer was coffee, and not a good coffee, but a stale fruity coffee taste. It actually kind of ruined coffee beers for me.

I must have misunderstood the prices that have been previously quoted for this product. Saw it just today in Lancaster, PA at three separate locations. Price being sought was $23, $22 and $22. Certainly profiteering is not taking place...

Was cheaper in South Jersey when available. Wegmans had it for $16

Tried it today and man, it was damn good. Definitely reminded me of SMS. Scoop up a bottle if you can find it!

I completely agree. I heard so much hype about how it blew KBS out of the water. Those people are smoking crack. They just want to think the next big thing is something local. It taste like an failed adjunct mash up of a BA beer. The coffee is stale as shit.

Had a single bottle of regular Java Head tn. It was pretty good.
