Victory: Java Cask Bourbon Barrel Coffee Stout

How does Java Head stack up to the big boys, in your opinion

 

I thought the coffee waa slighty muted but not necessarily in a bad way. Mouthfeel was solid. Very drinkable.

 

Max's had it yesterday. Bo Brooks did not have it today when I stopped by.

 

Seems like most Wegmans got just a case each. Montgomeryville beer buyer told me the case was gone in an hour and a half. Pleasantly surprised to find it on the shelf now in Allentown for $16.50

 

It was a very limited release...I mean you can only fill so many bourbon barrels...Victory doesn't have the resources of an InBev backed Goose Island.

 

Terrible is being polite.

 

I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it just didn't live up to the hype. it had too much of a metallic or chemical taste for my wife and I. A friend really liked it, though.

 

Tim's liquors on route 7 in Hockessin, DE has about 10 Java Cask at 16.99 each. Check shelf with bombers and the fridge. Just left a few minutes ago with a few bottles

 

To each his/her own: I loved it!

 

Also for those in S. NJ, just picked up two more bottles at Canal's Pennsauken...yum!

 

At least 2 cases landed at The Loft today.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Anything else particularly noteworthy up at the loft?

 

It was a really quick stop but I also grabbed a bottle of Cinnamon Roll'd Wake 'N Bake and the new Stone/Sierra Nevada collab.

 

A couple surprise cases and singles are at D-town as of an hour ago. $190 / case.

 

hey Mr Donco you (and everyone else) crazy about the SMS it's Tiny and horrific. However spot on win the Victory Java, drinking mine now except for a little tiny (no pun intended) harshness on the backend on the first pour this beer is really good. The coffee aroma almost non existent from the bottle but so forward from the snifter. 1/2 thru I'm starting to get it from the bottle too. nice. I also like how it's not too sweet, look BCBCS 2012 still my choice for best beer ever but this is really good.

think I'm gonna order 2 more. Merry Christmas to all.
