Victory: Java Cask Bourbon Barrel Coffee Stout

Hey, they have to pay for that new Franklin Mills/Philadelphia Mills spot opening this week somehow.

 

So is this strictly a Philly area thread or can I ask if anyone knows about the possibility of this coming to the other side of the state?

 

I would never buy stuff there that I can get an another store (example - they charge $20 for a sixer of Grapefruit Sculpin. Nope.) They are also close to my office, and considering I live in DE, they carry a lot of stuff I just can't get elsewhere.

For this particular beer, I was traveling on Black Friday and couldn't make it to Downingtown. I missed Wegmans and WF deliveries, so here I am. The fact is, $15 wasn't an option for me because no one has it locally. Except BSM.

 

I didn't hit Delaware, so I'm not sure if it will make it's way out west.

I think (re: BSM) you answered your own question: they charge what they do because they often have beers not found elsewhere

 

Precisely. Now they occasionally have some affordable stuff - like Hardywood GBS @ $10/bottle or sixers of BP Victory at Sea for $16.99 - but that's not the norm. I do my regular shopping closer to home.

 

It should. Victory said this will be distributed throughout their footprint (said the hopeful Jerseyan).

 

Got 2 bottles this week in a trade, had to give up a Brothers Brewing, Apple Brandy Resolute to get the 2nd bottle, first bottle was a Hardywood GBS and Brothers Brewing Resolute.

I picked up 2 bottles there last night - not sure if they still have it.

 

This is in NJ, picked up some yesterday evening. Joe Canals Rt45 posted they have it on twitter too.

 

I called my Delaware shop, they think it will be arriving in the next week or two. I guess I'll drink my really expensive bottle and decide if I want to purchase another, more reasonably priced bottle to cellar.

 

Saw it posted on FB as available at Grant Avenue Takeout.

 

I definitely paid at least $12 at Southampton on Thanksgiving for GBS. Price discrimination is fine by me, though.

Thanks for the heads up! Stopped by on my way home from work earlier tonight and grabbed the last bottle.

 

Northern Liberties Beer has bottles of Java Cask.

 

Was able to get some at CJ's Doghouse in Kulpsville. Looking forward to trying this.

 

Jeez. Paid $15.99 tonight.
