PA BAs, I’ll be 3-4 miles from those two breweries today for a soccer tournament and have some free time. Was just thinking about stopping by one of the two for a beer. Obviously I know a lot about/have had a lot of Victory beers but have never actually visited their location. I see East Branch is right there too. Never heard of them. Any thoughts from those of you who’ve been to both places? Thanks.

I have been to both places and either one is a worthwhile visit. They both have good food, good beer and are nice places.

Maybe look at what is on tap today and pick the place that have a beer(s) that is attractive to you.

    Cheers!

I'm not as diplomatic as Jack, East Branch.

Thanks guys. The wife and I are having a drink on the roof at East Branch right now. Squeezed for time so only one beer and a pretzel. I really wanted a burger. Nice spot though!

    Which beer did you choose?

Your post motivated me to visit the East Branch website to see what they had on tap and for some reason Morava (Czech Pils) was 'calling out' to me. It inspired me to put some of my homebrewed Bohemian Pilsners in the fridge to drink later today.

I had the Riemer German Pils, which was very good. I ordered the Morava initially but it had just kicked. I had a few sips of my wife’s Keller pils, which was also good. So I ended up getting 4packs of the Riemer, Keller, Morava and the DDH pils.

LOL, was in there on Saturday afternoon probably for the same reason you were. I was with one of the other dads, and we got a txt to buy pizzas for the girls to bring back to the field and the brewery was right next door to the pizzeria. I had the Riemer and the Keller myself and enjoyed both. Liked the Riemer a little more. Seemed like a great place, could have stayed there all day.

Ha yeah, had to schlep in Sat Sun and Mon but Sunday was the only day where the timing worked out. A lot of driving this weekend but daughter’s last soccer tournament ever, so.

East Branch made the best domestic kolsch I have ever tried. It was called Der Bach, my brother in law gave me a few cans once. My only experience with them but man it was as good as it gets. If I’m ever in the area I will go to both

Have you ever tasted Von Trapp Kolsch?

    Cheers!

P.S. I also enjoyed drinking Der Bach at the brewery.

Yes, I have had it, putting it nicely; not the biggest fan of that one.

Ah, damn! That was the one four pack I opted out of buying after initially including it.

Hmm, your palate is quite different from mine here.

Oh well, as the French will say: vive la différence.

    Cheers!

P.S. I have a six-pack of Von Trapp Kolsch in the fridge and I will be enjoying one later this evening! :beers:
