Yeah, but he loves saisons and I do, but not a style I usually go out of my way to buy. Plus Victory tends to underwhelm me. If it was a DIPA I'd still try it. I still might but it's farther down the list... There's so much to try out there!

I can see you not trying Swing if Saison beers are not your thing. Not trying a beer because a friend has a negative opinion (and you can read on this thread that many folks do like Swing) is not a definitive way to make up your mind on a beer.

If you do decide to drink Swing and you don’t like it please feel free to post your opinion (but you should also mention that Saison beers are not your favorite style).

    Cheers!

Tried one the other night. Inoffensive, definitely better than Shiner's attempt. Doubt I'd buy another when other saisons I prefer are readily available to me, but I don't regret buying it.

Other than wishing it had some more spice to it, I really had no qualms with it at all drinking it one off. Looking forward to Opening Day (let's go Bucs!!) when I'll be killing off three bottles I have left of it in a row to see if the session part of it is worthwhile.

Different strokes, I guess. I'm more content to fill my summer with Headwaters and Summer Love (among others), which I find to be much more quaffable.

I also thought "witbier" upon the first sip. I thought it was a tasty beer though. I need to try it again to form a better opinion. I'm not sure it's better than Notch, and Notch is definitely closer to what I think of when I think saison. I'm planning on grabbing a six of Notch Saison soon to revisit it and compare. Because I love me some session beers, especially for the summer, so the more the merrier!

I tried it recently and enjoyed it however, I found it to be just a tad bit on the too peppery/spicy side as well.

I thought it was a solid beer.

As some who does not like wits and likes subtle spicing in his saisons, this review/post is a bit of a buzzkill. That I have read others like this one only adds to my skeptism that I will enjoy what I was initially quite excited to try.

But I dig that the brewer from Victory was kind enough to come here and provide a little backstory on the beer. That kind of effort is likely to result in me giving it a try even with my skeptism that its going to work for me.
