Good stuff. The Brett is relatively strong, I am going to get at least one more to put away to see what happens down the road. Now they need to send Helios north.

Helios has been in steady distro to NYC/LI for a few years now. Where do you live?

I saw a case of Helios with the new labels last week at the store and it was 55$ :grimacing:.

Still a value but no where near what it used to be at 34$ a case. Times are a changing..

I was actually disappointed in this beer... I didn't think it was enough of either IPA or Sour. I bought 2, so we will see what happens with some age. But, I was expecting something a bit stronger on the palate.

Well, it's not supposed to be a sour, it's more of a Belgian IPA. But you didn't find the brett strong, even when young? I did.

It's in Rochester now, picked up a bottle yesterday for 8.50. It's a pretty excellent beer. The Brett buries Hop Devil essentially, it's so strong, but it still tastes quite good.

Don't remember and it wasn't out when I checked yesterday (although they might have had it in the back or something). :astonished: Sorry about that. I'll try to be more observant.

I stopped in PP yesterday too and didn't see it. When I asked a guy there about it, he said they hadn't gotten it in?

Well, maybe I was wrong but I was pretty sure I saw it there about a week ago. That might mean they will get another/first shipment. If I was wrong, I apologize. Tracking down beer is hard enough as it is.

Would you still recommend it to someone who likes IPA and brett but dislikes Hop Devil and most Belgian IPAs? I guess I don't think of most Belgian IPAs tasting like brett (I mostly get banana), so I'm curious, but I'm also cautious as the lone weirdo who doesn't like DirtWolf.

Yes. The yeast is more Brett-y than clove/banana yeasty. It's less spicy than regular HopDevil and it seemed smoother to me. It's really good.

I dislike most Belgian IPAs, but do like Hop Devil, and loved this beer. Like Kadonny said, it doesn't really have that Belgian yeast feel to it, just the brett (which is thought to be part of the original profile of IPAs anyway). I did a comparison last week on WBAYDN, hopefully you find this helpful:

Just had my first Wild Devil tonight. Absolutely amazing! Great Brett character but didn't overwhelm the beer as the hops and malt came in pretty balanced on the back end. I got the last bottle at my local store, wish I had noticed it earlier last week. Truly a fantastic and unique beer.
