hopefully this won't show up over a month past bottling like last year. cases sat for month because of it.

 

How quickly do beers from other breweries arrive at your beer store(s)? How fresh are Sierra Nevada beers at your store(s)?

I've seen SN beers at just two weeks old before. they're usually good with that. I don't know what the deal with Hop Ranch last year was. hopefully an anomaly.

I hop around a variety of stores too; it was just Morris County, NJ and the surrounding area in general I think. just odd since it's not like the brewery is very far away.

 

Looks like I should be crossing the river to buy my Sierra Nevada beers. I have never seen 2 week old Sierra Nevada beers in any of my local retailers.

I hope that you luck out and find some super fresh Hop Ranch.

Heck I am lucky if I find 2 month old Sierra Nevada.

 

Was at Victory D-Town today....not only are there tons of cases of Hop Ranch....but they also tapped Yakima Glory today!

 

Thanks for help friends! I picked a case today at dtown... They had plenty left. Just about ready to open one or four...

So glad to hear Yakima is back!! Getting growler ready for tomorrow.

 

Saw some cases at Wegmans in Cherry Hill, NJ yesterday so I bet there's going to be a wide net for distro.

 

It's now everywhere in my area, picked up a 4 pack the other day and enjoyed one last night, great stuff as always!

 

How would you describe the hop aroma/flavor of this year's batch?

Fruity/juicy aroma, flavor is much of the same with a nice, clean bitterness. Reminds me of a very hopped up Pilsner in some ways but since they use Pislner malts... Fairly yellow in color too like the better batches in years passed. Light and smooth for 9%.

Kind of reminds me of a Lagunitas or a Stone Enjoy By or something. It probably always did but I have had way more of those beers over this last year so I have something to compare it to now.

 

This appears to be bottle-conditioned. What yeast variety is this?

 

I receive daily menu/tap updates for the D-Town location, and although I know that Hop Ranch is available for purchase in the shop, it has not been on the tap list for over a week. My family, friends, and I are planning a trip to the D-Town brewery within the week and I am trying to figure out if Hop Ranch will actually be on tap. Has anyone been there since Christmas, and if so, is Hop Ranch on tap? Thanks!

 

Hop Ranch is not currently on tap at D-Town though they will be getting some in shortly I believe. I'd suggest you just keep checking. Also, don't forget Victory has locations in Parkesburg and Kennett Square as well which may have it on draft.
