Thankfully it was comet and not mosaic, or citra hops.

i was just joking of course about comet hops. But a good batch of mosaic is great news! I’ll make sure to buy some fresh for homebrewing.

Apparently, Citra had a bad year due to the heat dome back in June. Yield and quality are down.

Someone needs to make a marketing thing out of "Machete Harvested Hops".

Some hop trellises came down at Micigan Hop Alliance. They used farm macinery to pull on the cables and got them back up. There was a viseo on their facebook page.

The fields out in Yakima are huge.

I think its honestly beyond most of our imagining. I've worked on sub 20 acre farms for all of my adult life and whenever I visit the actual agricultural areas where farms produce at a scale that feeds whole global industrial supply chains I am just immensely humbled. Even though hops are just a sort of a luxury product its also an amazingly complex set up for a commodity crop and seeing it at that industrial scale is pretty amazing.

Somebody, somewhere, will find a marketing angle in this.
