I'll be going to Vienna for a couple of days this month. I have some beer destinatins already taken care of, such as 1516 and 7 Sterne, but as always I'm looking also if there's any chance of finding some rare(ish) country ticks?
So info about some markets or shops from Aisa, Africa or Middle East Will be greaty apppreciated.

    Cheers

I have some reviews written up in this thread.

Depending on how interested you are in beer, I would suggest the Lichtenthalerbraeu. They really have become the best brewpub in the city. The location isn't exactly ideal for tourists like at the 1516 or 7stern, but the beers are a hell of a lot better. To be honest, I'm at the point now where I hate 1516.

    7stern remains a good option.

The best place to get 'exotic' beers would be the Prosi. I go there from time to time to get the Nigerian Guinness, but very few other exotic beers excite me. Hmm... actually I think they might have another foreign extra stout from the Caribbean, but I can't remember which one.

Great read, thanks @nloetz! Is there anything else you can recommend for just a great all around bar that has a solid selection of beer and some wine/liquor options as well (my wife can only drink wine/liquor) outside of the list you put together? We are going there for New Year's Eve for a few days.

All of those will have wine and liquor. I can't think of a specific place which has a particularly good selection of both beer and wine.

If your wife wants to try something special, an easy place to get to would be Wine & Co. My favorite place for wine is Wieninger in Stammersdorf, but that takes a long time to get out to.

...actually I think Bloom might be worth a try if you are looking for something more romantic. I've read that they have some special beers there, but I've never been. I imagine it might be a bit expensive. I imagine that they probably have some good wines too.
