    i think the best way to be an "advocate of beer" is to have at least a modicum of respect for the glory of fermentation - in ALL its forms. people who openly declare the closing of their minds from even the possibility of new experiences or sensations are often a detriment to the very cause they claim to promote. "beer advocates" with a chip on their shoulder against wine have every right to criticize wine snobs who thumb their noses at us. but simply adopting, in kind, a reactionary dismissiveness as retaliation doesn't go a very long way, in my experience.

    So the Ferrari Club magazine can't contain an article which compares Ferraris with other supercars? So a baseball player isn't allowed to enjoy a football match ? It's quite a reasonable question in a Beer site to ask where beer stands in relation to other beverages.
