Drank BCS 08 last night. The one I cracked in March and Feb tasted better. My thoughts is that its peaked. Still sublime. But was better half a year back.

What my good friend here said. I'll be cracking the 06-08's at near-future verticals for sure.

Cant wait to try 2011 BCS in 3 years and see what time does to it, knowing what a few years did to 08

So in addition to the growler of black note, Leon, BA Church on a hill, Pappy-aged De Molen, Du Claw Retribution and other high gravity beers I am bringing, not even to mention the Darkness vertical I am organizing, you are advocating I do a vertical of 12-15% ABV beer? Fuck it. Why not!

As I've said a thousand times before, y'all gotta find me. I'm easy to spot. Look for the guy everyone loves to hate.

I had 06-08 last night with some friends.

My girlfriend and I both thought the 06 was the best followed by 08. 07 had a prickly mouthfeel, which I was not a fan of.

My buddy liked 08 the best followed by 07 and 06 in last.

Had a 2008 a month or two ago and thought it was incredible. I didn't notice any oxidation at all. It was like chocolate fudge infused with bourbon in a glass. Just awesome-glad I've got a few more of 'em in the cellar!

I have been drinking 2008 BCBS (as well as others) consistently for a while now and have not noticed a dropoff whether aged in the fridge or at 55 degrees. The most recent one I had was about two weeks ago. No need to chug the inventory yet:wink:.

PS I have not and will not trade 2008 BCBS so don't think this is trade ammo defense or something. In fact I have traded for more in the last few months.

PPS I agree that the 2011 was the best fresh version I have had. Can't wait to see how they age.

Just drank the 2012. It might be a hair better than 2011 was. GI has REALLY got their program down to a science now

Yeah, I've only had 2 2012's so I didn't want to judge yet, but I wrote my reviews (speadsheet) and noticed they were almost identical to fresh 2011. Remember when everyone was on the InBev will destroy BCBS bandwagon? Anyway, I thought fresh '11 was slightly hotter out of the box, but both fantastic and better than fresh '10 and '09.

did a vertical about 3 months ago. 2008 still came out on top.
    it was close but, 08 > 10 > 11 > 07 > 09
every bottle deserved an A or better.
beyond the effects of oxidation, batches vary.

Did anyone ever seriously believe that? BCBS 2010 and 2011 BCBS sold out at an incredible rate with premium pricing. What rational company would kill a golden goose?

InBev probably won't mess with GI too much as long as they maintain growth rates and keep hitting targets. The only way InBev would take a more active role is when/if GI fails.

I completely agree, but that was not the popular view then. Many expected the quality to fall off a cliff. That has not happened. Thaqnkfully.
