I picked up Vintage Beer by Patrick Dawson, it provided me with a lot of useful info for checking the cellerability of beers I haven't aged before.

A lot of helpful info about the role of alpha acids, beta acids, phenols, fusels, ect.

Any criticism or controversy I should know about?

Not that I know of. I love that book and find it very helpful. I read it cover to cover when I got it and now pull it out time to time while I am drinking something either aged or potentially ageable. I have yet to find any good source that either disagrees with it or calls into question anything in there.

Im still new to cellaring (two years, one year seriously) and bought book about 9 months ago. Overall best info out there. I use for reference often. I have not heard any bad words about it. Anyone starting off should start by reading this..

My limited studies have not shown anything to otherwise prove the information in Patrick's book wrong.

Vintage beer is the best I've seen, a
So extreme inexpensive I think mine was $3 shipped.
