Vinty Air lock

    hello all

    im brewing a few 1 gallon batches. can anyone tell me how a vinty junior airlock works? i dont see any holes allowing flr the CO2 to escape??? thanks

    Is your airlock like the pic in this link? http://bsghandcraft.com/index.php/fermentation-equipment/airlocks/vinty-junior-airlcok.html That looks like the typical 3-piece airlock that has an inverted cup placed over the center hollow stem, and then a cap on the larger outer cup. Water is inside the outer cup to about halfway to provide the 'lock' function. The cap that fits over the outer cup with the water should have a tiny hole in it which allows the CO2 to escape.

    If you have a 1 gal fermenter you can see if there's activity in there. Clear glass, right? When did you brew the beer? What temp did you pitch the yeast? Do you have any gravity readings?
