Virginia (2022)

If you are in a market to which Reverie Distribution makes deliveries be on the lookout for possible drops of CLAG Brewing out of Sandusky, OH. Have seen a couple deliveries in RVA this week so far.

The owner of CLAG is the brother of An Bui (The Answer and Mekong). Have heard the beers do not disappoint. The three beers I saw posted were

From Sandusky With Love - This delicious DIPA needs not shaken, nor stirred... An explosive amount of Citra/Galaxy/Strata hops throughout the brewing process. Overwhelming tropical notes with a clandestine juicy hop finish

Super Yellow - Big daddy to our Yellow IPA. Brewed with a variety of Australian hops, this beer delivers incredible aromas, absolutely amazing mouthfeels, and delicious tropical fruit flavors. Think pineapple upside down cake

One Million Đồng - We brewed this big IPA with all Yakima Valley hops. Big flavor and aromas. Refreshing citrus notes and really tasty hoppy character. Smooth mouthfeel

 

Benchtop opened their Richmond location over the weekend. Didn't see much build up to it. Happened to see a buddy of mine went to what I assume was their soft opening Friday and then the brewery posted that evening about their Sat (Noon - 9p) & Sun (Noon - 7p) hours. Made my way down yesterday to check it out. Not too familiar with the Manchester area but found street parking right next to the entrance. No outdoor seating yet. They have a small food menu of meat hotdogs, vegan hot dogs (grilled carrots). 12 beers on tap and cans to go. I had their foeder aged Rauchbier, 'Town Hall', and was impressed. No flights but you can do half pours individually priced to build your own flight.

A great addition to the RVA beer scene. Also right around the corner from Basic City and Legend.

Dear Answer Pham,

As we all know these past few years have been extraordinarily challenging for all of us. We have weathered the crisis so far with mininmal distruptions and appreciate all you have done to keep us motivated and going!

Over the past year and half we have absorbed incremental price increases in all of the raw materials utilized in brewing and culinary operations, most significantly during the pandemic months. We opted not to increase prices as often as we recieved them from our vendors, however these increases have sustained themselves beyond our control. Due to these price increase, effective July 1st 2022 we will be increasing our prices across the board.

We value ever single one of you who have stood by us and supported us during these trying times.

In other news, we will opening up our To-Go operations, effective Monday July 4th @4pm. You will be able to order online 4pks, Crowlers, and food for pick up!

Mekong does not have their tap list online. Don’t think they ever have. Best bet is to check recent Untappd check-ins if you happen to see someone show it / trust it’s recent, ask one of the RVA beer groups if anyone has a pic or if you are fortunate enough to be in the Questions and The Answer FB Group someone regular surely can post it.

Also, if it helps, Corks & Kegs got bottles of Bourbon Paradise in on June 27. Might be worth a call to see if they still have any left and could hold it for you.
