I'll be in Virginia Beach for 7 days at a conference in August and am wondering for those who have been down there before what some good spots are. It looks like Grape & Gourmet is a must visit. I'm right on the beach and do have a car so this should be no problem to get to. Anything else near the beach that's worth checking out? I'll be right on Atlantic Ave.

    Thanks!

After G&G check out Total Wine and Whole Foods . TW has a huge selection and WF has cheap pints and growler fills . Only a few miles from the oceanfront . Beach Brewing is fairly close too . They make some decent beers .

Don't get down there much so I can't tell you a lot about the craft beer scene at the beach . Abbey Road has some good beers and food .

I mostly go to Lynnhaven Pub . It's a cool little neighborhood pub with a great craft beer selection . About 20 minutes from the beach area .

I would second what MaltyTasker says. Visit Grape and Gourmet, Whole Foods, and the nearby Total Wine.

If you feel like traveling a bit, check out the Birch Bar - http://www.thebirchbar.com/ check out the tap list. Near The Birch check out Smartmouth Brewery also.

If you're actually at the beach and need good beer, your best bet is the 11th Street Taphouse. The draft list is decent if pricy and the crowd can be BMCish who are slumming it at a craft beer place.
