My wife and I are planning a visit to Georgia in late March or early May. We will be in Brunswick and Savannah. What are some good brew pubs or beer bars? We are from the Seattle area and are looking forward to trying some East Coast and Southern style craft beers.
You should search around the South-Atlantic forum that covers GA. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/south-atlantic.17/ I've visited Savannah a few times and I love the city but found the beer scene lacking. Hops & Barley is supposed to be a good bottle shop and The Distillery is the only beer bar I've visited. The Public is a cool restaurant that has a good selection and Moon River is the only brewpub I've visited.
I stayed in Brunswick for several months in 2009. I hope it has gotten better since then, because it was slim pickings back then. Awesome shrimp, though.
I'm about 4hrs from Savannah and haven't been there in years but Southbound Brewing has some decent beers that distro to my area. GA law limits breweries to 36oz 'sample' tours (most are heavy handed though) with the option of purchasing 72oz 'souvenir' beer to go. I think there is a World of Beer down there that has 500 or so different beers.
