One of my favorite breweries. Living in Brooklyn I see the same 6-8 bottles at the shops I frequent. I managed to get eight bottles of Batch 61 and its a favorite beer of mine. I'm obviously excited to be going there in a month.

What is the bottle selection like at the taproom and surrounding bottle shops? Will I find a decent amount of unique bottles I'd never see in NY?

I, of course, have an itinerary of many other taprooms to visit while I'm in Denver, but CS is the one I'm most looking forward to and plan to visit twice.

Anyone here ever been to CS? Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

CS is awesome to visit. It's in this cool little shopping center that has some good food. Kind of a unique spot for a brewery but they are super nice and generally have a decent selection of bottles to take home. I go every time I'm in CO. Worth the visit for sure.

Sounds good. I'd like to get at least 3-4 bottles I'd not seen in NY. Thanks

CS is a really cool little place. Their tap list is surprisingly large for a brewery of their size, and most (if not all) taps are also available in bottles in their cooler. Make sure you try Progenitor and Origins if they are still on tap when you get there -- they're truly excellent, excellent beers. As FrancisT said, the taproom itself is located in a shopping center of sorts (it was originally built in the 1880s as a train station, IIRC) and right outside of CS is a bottle shop that has a good selection of bombers, from CO and other states.

Most good shops will have a solid CS lineup. Mr. B's downtown (closest to CS) probably has most if not all that's available. Argonaut is larger and close as well.
Just FYI, they actually don't brew at "The Source" location (I believe they have moved their equipment back to their barrel room--48th and Pecos-ish), but expanded the seating a bit and dedicated it as their tap room. Should be able to stock up on bottles.

When you're at the Source don't just pass up bottles of Vielle because you can get it in NY. They sell bottles of earlier batches that are drinking fantastic now

Not sure you'll find bottles unique to the taproom, but I'm also not sure what you're getting in NY. Everything at CS can be found in a few of the stores around Denver. You'll be coming at a good time since they are releasing new stuff this month:

I'll be going on the next few Wednesdays to pick up the new releases. Would be happy to buy you a beer...

Hey, I was wondering how long bottles stay around when they are released. I'm in CO for the week but wasn't planning on hitting CS until Saturday any chance the bottles that are being released wednesday will still be around saturday?

You'll be fine. Bottles tend to stick around for a month or so.

A year ago you'd have been in trouble, but now I can pretty much guarantee you'll be fine. CS has been pumping them out the past six months and supply has been great, plenty to go around.

The taproom always has several cases of whatever current release is available. If you head to the west side of town (Lakewood & golden on yr way to the mountains) Mile High Wine & Spirits and Applejack have great selections of CS. Most shops I know have roughly the same pricing...

I was trying to remember from the last time I was in Denver, is it on Tuesdays or Wednesday that CS taps a special keg?

Also, it looks like they gave up on their website some time ago...is there any place online that keeps track of what they have on tap and for sale in bottles?

I believe Tuesday for taps and I know Wednesday for bottle releases. I have never seen a bottle list, but they regularly post tap updates on their Facebook page.

I went Wednesday of this week around 1PM, was told all new beers are poured and sold in bottles at 6PM, on Wednesday. Bartender also told me they are basically releasing a new beer every week for the next two months... he thought April 1st would be Petite Sour Raspberry, but he wasn't certain.

I will be in Denver this Wednesday so that's good news. Is it crazy busy when they have these releases and I would need to come early to get in line or can I just show up at some point that evening whenever it is convenient?
