Is it worth it to go to Jester King in Austin?

Absolutely. One of the best sites to sit an enjoy beer, especially if the weather is nice. I've been probably 10 times, and look forward to it every time I go. And now that Stanley's Pizza is on site as well, and they sell bottles, its fantastic.

I haven't been yet and even though I'm not a fan of farmhouse, I would still go and plan on going one day. It's in the beautiful Tx Hill Country. I'm sure there will be beer I like and good pizza from what I heard. But most importantly, good company to chill with.

It is a wonderful place to visit. It is my favor brewery to visit in Texas by far (full disclosure, I haven't been to Freetail yet).

I've been once, and am wanting to go again asap. Great times, great beer, great atmosphere.

It's definitely on my to-do list, along with Freetail.

I've never been but I know for sure it's definitely worth it. It is at the top of my list of breweries to visit.

It's up there with Cantillon with best brewery tour/tasting that I have experienced. It's all about the whole experience.

Most certainly worth it... From the beer, to the pizza, to peeing in an old RV/restroom, it's an awesome experience. Last time I went it was 45 degrees and drizzling and I still had a pretty awesome time. Oh... and a Heifer got loose and scared the crap out of some folks from California (in for SXSW I'm assuming). That was pretty much worth it too...

Definitely worth it if you are hoping to sample their beers without purchasing a lot of bottles. Jester King dedicates most of their production to bottles, so it's hard to find it on tap around town. It's also the best brewery setting in Texas, maybe the best one I have ever been too. Get there early and plan to stay until 4:00 when they close. It's a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I don't mean to reiterate (actually I do), but get your butt out there as soon as you can. You won't regret it.

I live about 5 minutes away and make it out there all the time. Definitely worth a trip, and then infinity re-trips

Holy cow! Sounds great. ON the website it sounded like there was no brewpub and that it was only open on Saturdays. Is that the case?

Well, brewpubs are illegal to have in production breweries in Texas (at least currently, there's a bill currently in the state legislature to change this). ... ... but there's a restaurant about 100 feet from their door that serves their beer (and sells bottles for off premises) called Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza. Their pizza is also killer.

Yeah, they're only open on Saturdays from 1-4pm 3 tours (1:30, 2:30, 3:30). Stanley's is only open on tour days and will open at 12:30pm, iirc.

Right. In Texas, you can't have a brewpub at a brewery that is licensed to sell in stores. Dont ask - we have some terrible laws.

So every Saturday from 1-4, JK has a tour/tasting, where you pay $10 for the glass and parking, and get tastings for "free". You can also buy bottles there.

    Go. Its well worth it.
