I'm in Appleton for business next week and thinking I'll head down to Madison (maybe Milwaukee if there is a compelling argument) for a few hours on Tuesday or Wednesday night. I won't have a ton of time and will have to stay functional but if anyone wants to meet up and grab a beer let me know.

I think I want to hit up this place http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16485/?view=beerfly but other than that I'm pretty open.

Brasserie V is super expensive, if you want a similar atmosphere at a much lower price try the palm tavern in Milwaukee.

For a solid meal with great beer selection in madison go to Great dane in downtown madison or the old fashion which is 3 blocks away from great dane.

Not saying its worth the drive to Milwaukee but if you end up there I suggest checking out Milwaukee BrewIng Company's brewpub on 2nd street. Good beers, good food, and the 2 times I've been there they had great live blues music.

Looking at the map that seems like a better bet. I think I'll head on down tonight.

Ale Asylum, Tyranena, Capital, and New Glarus, all in close proximity (if not in Madison) at least in compares to the distance to MKE.

I was just in Madison last weekend and they had Zombie Dust and Ale Asylum Bedlam on tap at Union South,--But you have to be with someone who has a student ID or alumni membership.
