Coming from Ohio this weekend (Fri-Sun) and wondering if there is anything I should keep an eye out for while there. I have heard great things about Appalachian Vintner. Any other places I should stop or would that be the best bet for selection? Would love to grab some Westbook Gose, Prairie Bomb, w00t Stout, and some NoDa but unfamiliar with their availability.

Side question, anyone know if there is an actual beer list for brewgrass festival? I have seen a "list of breweries" on their website but it only shows logos for a small number of breweries when they seem to keep advertising 50-60+ and theres no mention of actual beers available. Wasn't sure if they usually release a list or not.

Barely a modicum of "research" in this forum would yield endless strings answering the "What should I do in Asheville?" question.

I did some research on it and I know I want to hit WW and Green Man and I saw the thread on the Bootsy release. I was more interested in any fairly recent local releases that I should keep an eye out for and if any other shops are worth visiting. Also, I genuinely could not find a brewgrass beer list.

Those beers that you mentioned in the OP shouldnt be too hard to find. NODA is sometimes hit or miss in Asheville but their distribution is getting better. Not sure if Woot stout is still available there. Its still on the selves here in SC so you might have a descent shot, same thing goes form Bomb. App Vintner is definitely my favorite bottle shop in Asheville, but bruisin ales is also very good (although much smaller) and it is located in the middle of downtown. Let me know if you can't find some of the beers youre looking for and I can get them for you in SC no problem. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks man. I realize it's never feasible to knock all the beers off you wish list when traveling. If I can get even 1/3 of the beers I would be looking for that's a win for me. I'll be there all weekend so I'll probably check out both stores.

Tasty Beverage has a downtown location now. It's kinda across the street from the Wicked Weed Funkatorium. Really good selection.

Buxton Hall has cans of Westbrook Gose you can buy with your food. The food is pretty good and when I was in town this was the only place I found that had WG at the time.

Appalachian Vintner and Tasty would be my picks for beer stores.. both have beer on tap so you can drink and shop... both have tap lists online which are usually current.

Some recent releases that might still be available this weekend:
Burial released some cans this week... Gang of Blades DIPA (only at taproom, might be gone by the weekend) and Scythe Rye IPA (taproom, also saw some at Tasty yesterday). I think there might be some Bolo Coconut Brown around town as well. And the taproom may also still have some bottles of Adoration of the Mystic Lamb Session Brett available, not positive.

Birdsong Wake Up Porter is around, saw some at Tasty yesterday.

Hi-wire Good Vibes Fresh Hop DIPA is around at some local stores

Grab any big beer from Olde Hickory, Event Horizon, Imperial Stout, Lindley Park, Dread God, Wavel Gunn, Irish Walker... can't go wrong and they should be at most shops.

As everybody has said forever, Burial is a must.

Burial is a must stop. As of the 9th they still had Bolo in cans. It's DELICIOUS! Def took a 4 pack home with me.

Appalachian Vintner kills it. Their taplist is amazing and they always seem to put on some gems during beer events.

I'm trying to avoid starting yet another thread about Asheville, so I figure I'd just bump the most recent one.

I'll be in town on October 10-11 for the Sigur Ros show. Are there any places dt open late on a Monday night? Preferably past midnight? Thanks in advance.

Asheville Brewing Co closes at midnight on Mondays, as does Thirsty Monk. Jack of the Wood (across the street from Thirsty Monk) is open until 0100. Most other stuff tends to close at 10 pm on weeknights.

Totally forgot about Jack of the Wood, that should be perfect. Thanks for the help!
