Does anyone happen to know if WW sells 1/6 barrel kegs to the public? Or any other notable places that might sell good local IPA in kegs? I'd like to pick something up when passing through in a couple weeks.

Not directly. We have purchased a keg of Pernicious from App Vintner before though

How long do the BA WW bottles hang around at stores? Looking for the BA French Toast among others.

No, I was there two weekends ago and they did not have any BA French toast left.

If its gone there, its certainly gone in stores. It stuck around at the brewery for probably a month, maybe a bit more. Haven't been in a couple weeks now.

You absolutely should put Sierra Nevada at the top of that list. Don't forget to check out the refrigerator in the gift shop! I recommend setting aside a chunk of change for what you'll find in there. :grinning:

It's worth taking the tour if you have the time and I would recommend eating there too.

Does the Funkatorium get super busy as well? I am visiting the 21st-25th from Kalamazoo MI, and I'm thinking of hitting up the original WW location for lunch on Friday and going to the Funk later that day/weekend. The Funkatorium sounds a lot more up my alley, but I've heard that the original location gets super busy so I figured I'd knock that visit out first during the early afternoon on a weekday (and then probably spend the rest of the day/night at the Funkatorium  ). If they both get equally busy, I might skip the original location.

Any recommendations for great food and/or great tap lists (not necessarily both at the same place)?

Any recommendations for good hiking trails accessible via public transit or a relatively short Uber ride?

    Thanks!

I see that Sierra Nevada is super close to the airport... Is it walkable from there by any chance?

Everything is busy in Asheville, but timing always helps. Late lunches at the WW original location is my MO. Everything (breweries) is so close together that by simply walking around you can find a good spot somewhere. Eat at Curate!

The Funk is fairly decently sized, so it usually isn't crazy crowded. However, if a bachelorette party or two roll through (which does happen), then there can sometimes be a wait to get in. If its warm enough for the outside to be open, you'll have a few additional people, but a ton more space. That's all for the weekend though. During the week I've never seen it particularly overcrowded.

Depending on your definition of walkable, yes. I personally wouldn't do it, but it should be doable I think. Once you get to the side road that leads to the Sierra Nevada grounds it's fine (and probably about a mile from their to the brewery), but can be steepish in places. Considering you said you're looking for hiking, I'm guessing that's not going to bother you too much. The main worry is Boylston Highway, which you'll be on a bit from the airport to the Sierra Nevada gate. There's no sidewalks and the road sees a decent amount of traffic. The nice thing is you're on the correct side of the road so don't have to cross Boylston. Usually when I'm in the area and the thought of walking comes up I'm at the Ag Center, which is across the street from the airport, which makes it much more difficult (and I've never attempted it). If you attempt it, make sure to walk down Terminal Dr and then Rental Car Dr. If you come out on Airport Rd/Boylston at Terminal Dr instead of Rental Car Dr you'll be on the main road for much longer, which wouldn't be fun because of the volume of traffic that goes through there at times.

Just take a 5$ uber. The driveway to SN is a couple of miles long with no sidewalk from what i recall.

Hit both WW locations. Make sure you go downstairs at the Brew Pub. They have different beers on tap down there.

The Funkatorium is pretty busy. It's not abnormal for it to be at fire code capacity on the weekends (one in one out)..but that said I've never waited more than 15 or so minutes to get in. And that's been during cold weather without the patio seating, I assume with the added outdoor seating being at fire code capacity is rare.

I'm a big fan of Buxton Hall BBQ.

as for Tap lists post here a couple days before the trip and we can check the local bottle shops tap list for you and such. And check for any pending releases.

It's really not walkable, but there are always Uber or Lyft's available.

I don't think I would chance it with the busy road. If it were as simple as hiking up the hill through the woods then maybe. With the amount of unforeseen merchandise you will pick up I would take a cab anyway.

Does Burial do growler fills yet? This was the biggest bummer of my visit last year that they didn't
