Hey there folks. I'll be visiting the Atlanta area for the next two weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for breweries or shops for local brews? I'd also like to bring home some cans and/or growlers. I'm from New Jersey and a big fan of Other Half, Tired Hands, Kane, and other NE IPA's. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'll also be spending a couple days in Thomasville, GA.

If you want NE hops Wrecking Bar will be where you want to go. They'll fill 32 oz growlers of their IPA/DIPAs and it's within walking distance of Porter.

When you're in Thomasville, there's not too many choices for decent brews on tap. Sweetgrass Dairy and Liam's both have varying selections, as far as draft goes. Each place usually has a few GA, AL, or SC brews on....once in awhile you might find a gem.
About a 30 min drive south will bring you into Tallahassee, where there are a few good taphouses, package stores, and breweries to choose from. I'm in the Tally area myself, so feel free to PM me if you want any specific recommendations or if ya wanna meet up for a brew. BTW if you like seafood, make sure to hit up Jonah's Fish & Grits in Thomasville. You pretty much can't miss with anything on their menu.

Thanks Y'all! Wrecking Bar Dan Fresh DIPA has been the best so far.

In Thomasville, J's and Bird Dog are probably the best bottle shops. Sweetgrass Dairy has a a rotating list of beer and you can get some cheese plates with their cheeses. Liam's and Joanhs are the best places to eat but Jonahs has no beer. Liam's has a good selection of beer and the bartenders make some really good cocktails. Soho is another decent place in Thomasville. Outside of Thomasville there is a meadery in Boston and Proof Brewing in Tallahassee.

In Atlanta area I would hit Brick Store, Three Taverns, Leons Full Service, Wrecking Bar, and Porter. Many good places for food and cocktails in the Decatur area if you are looking for a good place to stay and drink close to your hotel.
