Been finding Atypical around quite often lately. One of my new favorite Barrier IPAs. Dank and resinous, not dry, sweet or tropical. Like a lower abv Dunegrass. I had Suburbs IPA about two months ago at the brewery and remember feeling the same about it - but haven't seen it around lately. Anyone know the difference between the two?

I need to give Atypical another shot, I wasn't that impressed with the first batch.

I guess this will be the unofficial Barrier thread?

I see the latest Rotationer Pilsner single hop features Northern Brewer. Looking forward to having this - I really love steam beers.

If this is the barrier thread...anyone hit up Sunday brunch yet and is it kid/family friendly?

Go to Parlay in Rockville Center for brunch. They have 40 taps and the food is great. Head over to Barrier after, they're 5 minutes away from each other.

Haven't had the brunch at the the food truck but the lobster rolls and fish tacos are great. They have stuff besides seafood too. I heard the popcorn machine is back which my kid loves so we'll be back soon for sure.

I half agree. While I would love the luxury of being able to drink Money out of cans, I don't want Barrier turning into a shit show on beer release days. I am perfectly fine with the way things are right now.

Being in Oceanside, not Brooklyn will ensure there is no OH-like shitshow. I think they have many many more interesting beers than Money so that wouldn't be my first pick. Has anyone heard of any canning rumors? I haven't.

Made the trip over to Barrier today and picked up some growlers of Money. This stuff is very, very good. Actually reminds me of something that Trillium would make.

This new batch of Money is absolutely off the hook.

When I had it at Covenhoven I remember really liking it, but don't remember anything distinctive. When I had this weekend, stuff was amazing, incredible smell, so much going on with the taste.

How long does this usually last for at the brewery? Hoping to get another growler this weekend.

Depends how much they make, which can vary and how much they sent to bars (i know Jeffrey alone got 5 kegs)... this batch is great, the guy on the brewing team who made this batch killed it as he always does.

Seems to me they should be making this beer more often.

Money is always solid, but once in a while there's a next level batch.

But they make a ton of other great beers, I'm happy they don't need to rely on one or two flagships. If you like Money, give others a try next time.
