Visiting Barrier

that is true, but money is their best "constant" offering IMO, it should be on all the time, but that is just me

 

Whether it's their best is up to personal tastes, I prefer others as I've said before. I also don't think craft beer begins and ends with ipas so I really appreciate Barrier because they make so many different styles.

Beer Culture has cask Money at the moment. It's unusual for me to have a Barrier cask IPA, but it's always great when I do.

 

The Money on cask with pineapple (or passionfruit?) earlier in the year was ridiculous. Not a huge cask fan but I must have drank half the firkin.

 

Last summer Barrier had a cask of money on Mosaic, it was AWESOME

 

Do they still do casks every Friday like they did last year?

 

I don't believe so which is unfortunate.

They seem to be really lacking on social media updates this year. Or maybe there isn't anything to update.

 

Mars Zen was great, one of my favorite new releases from them this year, I assume it comes back soon.
I saw a few months ago they were bringing new tanks in, so maybe they've been busy getting that up and running. I've noticed less activity on beermenus lately.

 

Yep, kicked last night, I was going to head over there today for more growler fills. Did find a place in Astoria that fills growlers so got some today, but got a pretty weak fill, wondering if bad fill had any negative impact, tasted better last week when I got a perfect fill from brewery.

 

For those of you newly discovering Barrier through Money - Dunegrass DIPA is now on tap. For me it's like stone enjoy by but an extra dank version. I recommend it, but not too much - I need pick up a few growlers this weekend.

 

looking forward to having Dunegrass again, it was amazing stuff the when i first had it, but then the last time it seemed like a little off to me.

its too easy to go to Barrier and drink lots of great beers...i dont recommend it...so last year
Oh yea...one time i had to park 100yrds from the door

 

It's even more of a hassle to be dropped off by train 500 feet away

 

Followup to my last post - I don't know if it's still on tap at the brewery but Dunegrass is riduculous. so dank and smooth - opened my second growler today. I've think this batch is going around the NYC area according to beermenus. Better than Money. Would love to hear other opinions.

side note - sometimes I get the 5x 4oz. taster flights - I find it really hard to get a feel on each beer drinking them like that. Maybe better off staying with 10oz glasses.

 

didnt get any of that batch, spent all my $$$ in Bklyn, but my beer partner in crime was sayin the same about Dunegrass
