im heading there with a friend in Saturday for a pint/growler fills, if we get there near opening(1-2pm) is it usually a long wait for fills?
To be honest it's never overwhelming at Beer'd in my experience. Do a free tasting, buy a pint with your growlers and in most cases you'll have your growlers by the time you finish your beer. It might be a little longer at opening if people wait but its usually not too bad.
Do they fill 750ml Swing top growlers? Anyone know the prices for fills, can't find them on the website.
Growler prices vary by beer. Expect an average of $15 for 64oz of the normal stuff with $17 for the more high volume beers.
I love my pint while waiting, and they give the best samples of any brewery I've been to. Great place. Beer'd cans would be tremendous.
Beer'd seriously rules. Last time I went, there were 10 people who wanted samples and the woman working poured 10 samples for everyone in such an orderly, quick and great way. It was wonderful. Grab a pint or two and get your growlers. The perfect set up!!!
It was my first time at Beer'd a few months ago, and I was talking with the mom and sister of a beer hunter who were waiting for a growler fill on their way back to southern Jersey at the end of the weekend. They were like "we decided on this since it was relatively close to the highway". The other choice was hunting for Gandhi Bot on the rest of their trek through CT: I told them yeah, it would have been a nightmare trying to find G-Bot on a Sunday so you all made the right choice! Plus they were looking for a wine stop which they prefer, and I was able to refer them to several wineries within a half hour the best of which (Jonathan Edwards) is only 20 minutes north.
I will comment on my trip in one word....amazing! I got there at 4pm on a saturday(an hour before close) and it looked pretty busy! Was able to easily get a pint($5) and then drop off two growlers for fill(I got a 64oz World at Large APA $15 and 32oz boats and dogs DIPA $8.50). The nose on boats and dogs was ridiculous, and was as smooth as could be for 9%. World at large was citrusy and dank, and absolutely crushable. 8 days a week was just put on after I got my fills, and I was bummed because I heard great things. Growlers were ready in 10 minutes. Such a cool place and atmosphere. To me, the beers were world class and stands up to any of the more popular hop forward NE breweries. Such a laid back and great/chill experience, and beats waiting in lines. Plus, they have a sweet selection of various glassware(picked up my first Teku glass). I'm actually kind of surprised the hype train hasn't stopped here(although they are deserving of it). I wish I could get there more often, would be me go to spot if I lived in the area
Glad you had a good trip. The hype train isn't there (thankfully) but Beer'd is looked upon quite highly whenever I hear people talking about it.
The slower that hype train arrives, the better. The same with Steady Habit in Haddam. Shhhh... Glad you had an amazing time!
I have been to Beer'd once. Pretty solid beers. Not amazing, but not awful by any means. I will without a doubt head back down and see what else they have to offer. I have heard the Hobbit Juice and Dogs and Boats are awesome. Didn't get a chance to try either of them on my trip. The staff was insanely nice too and for me, that is a must. Can't wait to head back down to CT to check out another few beers.
Checked out Beer'd for the first time yesterday. Got there about 15 minutes after they opened and there was around 20 people in there. They had at least 6 beers on tap, including Dogs and Boats and the few that I tasted were all really good. Ending up paying $5 for a pint and drank that while I waited about 20 minutes for a growler to be filled. It's nice that they have places to sit and drink and they also text you when your growler is ready which is nice. Pretty positive experience, I'm a regular up at TreeHouse and it was a nice change from the chaos. Also enjoyed it better than Gray Sail which is 10 minutes away but doesn't sell full pints or have any place to sit.
Was at beerd today. They got the best set up in ct by far. Tasters and pints to the right and growler orders to the left. Plus the ordering system is great. Take your number and text when ready. Great experience
