I can only speak for myself and a few co-workers...but we've really only considered Riverbend a locals post to catch a ball game and avoid tourists...and the quality of the beer has always been dead last as a consideration. There's only been one or two beers on any given day that any of us think are palatable. still a great place to hangout, though. But I miss the brisket from the BBQ place that use to be there....Bernie's? I think it was. After it was the country kitchen or something like that.

almost forgot, need to add to all the recommendations for Broken Top Bottle Shop (BTBS). Aside from their excellent selection of beers on tap as well as bottled beers, their food menu is awesome. And they do the best job in town of catering to people with food restrictions or preferences or whatever you want to call it. always vegetarian and GF options. Almost nobody gives a rats' about lactose intolerance, but they use a lot of non-cow milk cheeses like manchego. I definitely appreciate the extra effort.

Hot tip: just saw Tony and asked him about the Boneyard pub. No promises, but sounds like soft opening at the end of this month with being open by his July 4th birthday.

I’ll be in Bend from July 7-12, and have a few questions. Any updates on Boneyard’s opening? Second, the “Visiting Seattle/Portland” threads have a list of Beer-centric restaurants, so what are some recommendations for places with great food and tap lists? And last, if I only hit one, maybe two bottleshops, which should they be? Cheers!

Zydeco Kitchen for good food and beer. Jackon’s Corner. Brother Johns on Galveston.

Bottle shops? Market of Choice, Botken Top Bottle Shop and The Brew Shoppe (above Platypus Pub).

No official date set yet, but Boneyard posted that they passed the Health & Final inspections.

I struggle to think of any truly “beer-centric” restaurants in Bend, outside brewpubs it’s more the adage of any restaurant in the NW having a decent-to-good selection. Jackson’s Corner probably comes closest to the mark on both the food and beer sides.

For bottleshops, Broken Top is my favorite, but I have to admit the Market of Choice grocery store has a better bottle/can selection (and a crowler).

There was a FB post the couple days ago saying Boneyard is closing the original tasting room soon, and that the new spot should open shortly after.

Official last day of the Boneyard tasting room was yesterday, they’re starting some invite-only soft opening activity at the new place today, this weekend sounds like the public opening.

Is Costco worth hitting up for some good beer or do they just have the standard 30 packs of macros? Thanks.

Certain Costcos sometimes have great deals. A few years ago one near me was blowing out 750s of Rodenbach for under 3 bucks each. I'd suggest checking the lower traffic/more rural ones.

The Bend Costco has a small selection of 22oz/500ml bottles and 6pks of Crux Gimme Mo. The Whole Foods across the parking lot has a decent selection too. Neither is bottleshop level, but if you’re pressed for time, you can do fine.
