I dunno if Prineville is included in this thread..but i really enjoyed Ochoco Brewing there. This weekend.
Large selection of their own beer..most of which were at least above verage and a really nice looking set up..with good inexspensive ( compared to Bend) food.
I wouldn't say it was a must visit..but if your heading East on 126 its a good stop

I could use a recommendation for a Bend “family restaurant (8 and 5 year old, grill cheese must be served)” that has a good beer list. Thanks.

McMenamins? I’m sure plenty breweries could whip it up if it’s not on the menu, but without being able to guarantee it, that’s probably your best bet outside of Shari’s or the Black Bear Diner (where the taplist takes a distant second to grilled cheese availability).

As always, I’d love to buy a fellow BA a beer if you’re in town.

Took a 6,3, and 1 year old to Bend Brewing, and they too ate grilled cheese.

If was just me, i’d buy the second round, but family trip. Tough to escape.

Also took the whole family to Sunriver Brewing (Sunriver location) as well. Lots of families w/ kids there.

Yeah, the one in Bend is a bit small and more bar like, if I remember correctly. Haven’t been to sun river location. Thanks for the tip!

Sunriver Brewing is a great spot for kids. I take my little guy to Broken Top Bottle Shop all the time and nobody cares. He's a year and a half, so he's never in his seat.

Crux has a large outdoor area and Worthy does as well.... super family friendly.

Curious, they get the access road situation figured out?

If by “figured out” you mean “neither side plans to change their mind anytime soon,” then yes. The road below Crux is still barricaded.

    Disappointing.

Went to Bend Brewing. Had the tropic pine ipa and (their most award winning) outback X. Both were pretty darn tasty. Family had a good time and I even left with some swag (cool T-shirt).

To the Bend/Redmond area residents here on BA, if you don’t mind helping out a fellow BA with some non beer related questions, shoot me a private message. Cheers!

Went to monkless (new brewery to me) for a snatch and grab. I really wanted to grab a flight, but a) it is 130 degrees (ok, maybe 120) and b) didn’t want to keep the babysitter (aka grandma) waiting too long (already spent the day fly fishing the crooked river). Anyway grabbed a 4 pack of Shepplekofeggan and it is hitting the spot!

Was in Bend for a family reunion and made a couple different beer stops

Sunriver - Might be the most underrated brewery in the state in my mind. Tried a variety of different styles and they were all really good. ESA might have been my favorite

Ale Apothecary - They've done a fantastic job with their tapoom. The Hostess was incredibly nice and opened up some of their rarer beers for tastings. All the beers were quite good, though four ounce pours would probably be my limit for most of them.

Worthy - I had no idea that Worthy was as big as they are. That Taproom/Brewery Complex is huge! Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at their Heart and Soul one-offs.

Cascade Lakes - Worst beer I've had in a long time. The Pilsner wasn't bad, but their Cherry Blonde was completely undrinkable. Cut my losses and left after two samples.

Did Sunriver still have the BB Quad w/cherries? I’m still thinking about that beer a month later.

I'm probably late, but Jackson's Corner is perfect.

Visiting Bend from LA, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the Hawaiian Crunk milkshake IPA I had from Riverbend. It's a style that can easily go very, very wrong, but that one was balanced really well and less than half the price of what similar beers go for in SoCal.
