Hi folks! Myself, a good friend and my gf will be taking an overnight trip from Montreal, Quebec to Burlington, VT next Saturday and was wondering if I could get some recommendations from you all. Are there any good and reasonably-priced hotels you'd recommend? How about brewpubs and bottle shops? We can't bring much back since we're only staying one night, but we're all beer enthusiasts and it'd be nice to bring back a 6er or a couple of individual bottles. Any suggestions on interesting sites to see are welcome as well!

    Hey!
I'm from montreal too, and presently doing a small beer-oriented roadtrip in vermont. I'm sleeping in waterbury but just got back from burlington to try "zero gravity" beers, at american flatbreads restaurant and taproom. Had a pretty good saison, a pretty good hopppy wheat beer and great pale ales and ipa, especially in cask. For bottles, pearl street beverage had a pretty good selection, including heady topper, and it seems that winooski beverage is even better, I'll hit them tomorrow. If you want more insights on Vermont breweries, there's a book written by 2 montrealers named "la route des grands crus de la bière" which covers Vermont, and gives good suggestions of stores, restaurants, etc...

Can't beat Farm House Tap and Grill IMO. There's a chance to have Lawson's, Hill Farmstead, AND The Alchemist all in one stop!

Thank-you for the replies folks! That's some pretty helpful info... we'll make sure to hit several of the spots you've mentioned.

Do a forum title search on here for that topic - there is literally a thread every week on where to go in Burlingtin & surrounding areas.

Just went to the Beverage Warehouse in Winooski(?) last weekend. Amazing selection of 900+ beers. The Alchemist brewery and Prohibition Pig are big draws in Waterbury although I personally haven't had a chance to get to them.

I'm probably headed to the Waterbury area next month with the wife for our anniversary. It seems to be one of the places with the best balance between beer for me and stuff she's wanted to go to since she was a kid for her. Plus, I make it a point to hit the Sturbridge area to support a community impacted by natural disasters so it would make sense to continue that.

This pig is great, but for me it's over shadowed by Blackback and the Rez. Beverage Warehouse is an excellent bottleshop, definitely my favorite around
