My wife has a job interview later next week in Butte, MT. I'll be traveling with her, so I'm excited to pick up a few offerings in the area. As of now, I have Ivan the Terrible and Lewis & Clark Tumbleweed IPA on my list to try. For those in this area, what other offerings do you recommend?

In addition, we'll be in Brush, CO the second week of October. Any local recommendations from this area (even the Fort Collins area) is greatly appreciated.

    Much thanks in advance.

Looks like I'll be adding Plum St. Porter to the "try" list...

I've been to Brush once in my life, and it was one time too many...don't think you'll find much out there (but who knows). Ft. Collins has more beer than you can possibly imagine. Search this forum, you'll see lots of recommendations, but the ones that always come up for Ft. Collins are Choice City for lunch, then hit up Odell, New Belgium, and whatever else you have time for. It's worth making it over to Ft. Collins.

ASak10, thanks for the info. I figured my best bet was more toward Greeley and Fort Collins to find some of the local beers.

For the past week I've been doing a ton of searching in past posts for local beers around Butte, MT and near Fort Collins, CO....so, I'm getting a nice list together to try.

    Thanks again.

Brush is a horrible place
Check out Wiley Roots and Crabtree breweries in Greeley. Fort Collins and Loveland have 23 breweries total with many other options. Sort of a beer nirvana if you're visiting from Texas.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely try the Wiley Roots "Deep Roots chocolate porter".

In butte go to metals. And try the blackfoot single malt ipa. Best ipa in the state IMO. Front street and Hennessy market will be your best spot for bottles

    No, Tumbleweed's the best!

@OP, and if your wife isn't feeling Butte's unique version of "charm", you could crack open one of those bottles on your walk to dinner and give her a demonstration of what life could be like everyday (no open container law in Butte).

Lucky me I live in Helena! I get both straight from the source. I do like tumbleweed, but I gotta give Blackfoot as my favorite

coincidently, Tumbleweed just won a gold at GABF……in the English style India Pale Ale :astonished:

Butte and Brush in the same month, and here I thought I was having a less-than-optimal October! Thanks for the pick-me-up......You deserve all those good beers, and more.

Wish I'd found this thread a month ago. If you go back to Butte, stop in Quarry Brewing, as well. Fun place, good beers.
