I'll be visiting NC on the 25th-27th of July...My wife is in a wedding and I'll have some time to kill, so I have a few questions:

    1. Where can I go for a good brew on draft?

    2. Where can I go to buy bottles to bring back to Michigan?

    3. Anyone up for possibly meeting up sometime during those days?

Feel free to post or BM me...cheers!

I work at OMB, one of several fine breweries in this town, and I'd be happy to meet a fellow BA for a beer and brewery tour if you're interested. Their are a huge number of great options here; where exactly are you staying?

    Cheers!

Liberty, Duckworth's (the park road or Ballantyne locations only), Vintner, Mac's (Steele Creek location), Common Market (either of the 2 locations), The Flying Saucer and Custom Home Pubs are my favorite locations to sit and have a beer. I like Taco Mac SouthPark a lot for its beer, but the food there needs significant work. World of Beer is decent, with its strength being its bottles. Brawley's, Vintner, Total Wine (Park Road location) and Custom Home Pubs are good beer stores. Good breweries with good tasting rooms are OMB (Olde Mecklenburg) and NoDa.

    Hope this helps!

The real Macs is South End. Steele Creek is an impostor (albeit an impostor with good beer and barbeque). Kidding.

To Disciple, Charlotte's beer scene is big enough that you don't have to run all over town to hit some great restaurants and beer bars. Let me know what area you are staying in and I can let you know what is close by. More than likely it will be one of the spots mentioned here previously. I should be able to meet you for a beer depending on where you are staying. It is very difficult to lure me out of Ballantyne but not impossible.

Think we're staying around here = 1921 Ayrsley Town Blvd, NC - looks like SW side?

Basically right across the street from Macs Steele Creek. I'd be up if people are meeting there for a beer.

Yep, good news bad news situation here. Bad news first (always my preference) is you are not in a real "beery" area. A bit out of the way (15-20 minute drive) from most of the beer hotspots in town. Good news as previously pointed out is you are right next to Macs Steele Creek a very legit craft beer bar with big selection, lots of specials and excellent barbeque/vibe. That will be your spot. Shoot us a message when your stay gets closer and it sounds like we might be able to do a meetup.

Isn't that the truth? It's really pretty amazing to see how far Charlotte's come in the last few years. genuinedisciple, you can't go wrong with any of the places mentioned. Enjoy Charlotte!

Okay, so my schedule in NC:

I have Thursday night (26th) free in downtown Charlotte...not sure what's even around there, help? and then I have from 1:00pm-6:00pm on Friday open on the SW side. If anyone is free to grab a drink or can assist me with some good bottle shops to visit on either side, please BM Me or post here.

    Cya.
