We've got to get to a bowl game before we worry about basketball! It's a rough life being a kentucky (or UNC) football fan, but somebody has to do it.... All these places look great though, I appreciate the suggestions. Also.... Go Cats!

    Yeah. Sucks.
That will take some effort, and a ton of funding, from which to recover.

That really sucks. Excellent food, good beer list. First place I had Zombie Dust on tap years ago.

Yeah they had some killer food. It will be missed for sure, hopefully they rebuild.

Man, just read The Trib article. And they lived above the place! Glad everyone is okay. And as someone who really like cajun/creole food, this is a bummer. I'm sure their absence won't be good for business on that whole block, including Blue Island Beer Co.

Yeah thankfully everyone was okay. And it certainly will have a trickle down effect on the surrounding businesses.

I’ll probably keep most of it at Pub, but who knows.

Die-hard UK fan and I can vouch for the Pony. Not necessarily great beer selection, but def where you want to go to watch a game. Also, Cats are 2-0 with a win on the road against Florida. I'll take that start to the season. Cheers!

Yes! Finally saw a cats win against Florida in my life! Last night was insane, I’m still hungover from it. If Terry can be our second option to Benny, we’re in business. Planning on being at the pony next weekend, if you’re there come say hey!

Unfortunately won't be back in Chicago until the last weekend of September. Enjoy the Pony though! First time my wife and I went was for the UK/UL game in Cal's first year. That place was BONKERS.

Also, I have a buddy that is a head brewer/owner of a brewery in the Chicago area, Pollyanna. They don't get as much hype as some but he has a GABF and FOBAB medal and Pollyanna hasn't been open four years yet. Be sure to check them out if you see them around. Cheers!

Roots coincidentally has a location on Chicago Ave., in the same area where @dscott421
is staying. Forbidden Root could be your easy pregame/postgame option as well. As others have said, it's a short trip to Wicker Park for Links or Piece. Looks like the 9/15 UK game is at 11am, you should be fine getting a table at Roots or Piece when they open.

Thx @croush. Last night here in town. Back for training. Flew in Monday. Waiting for the wife to fly in and hang out tonight. Probably going to Revolution for dinner. I would like to take a can or 2 back to our hotel for Thursday night football.

    Hello,

I don’t post often but I am traveling to Naperville later this week for work and I am looking for suggestions on best bars and breweries to visit. Wednesday I will have the ability to go anywhere in the Chicago area so I am looking for the best spots to visit. Thursday I am looking for a good bar/place to have dinner in the Naperville area.

Thank you for the recommendations and help.

Ill let others fill you in on Chicago since a lot of people know the city scene way better than I do, but Solemn Oath Brewery is here in Naperville. Love that place and they have a lot of good beer on in the taproom right now. Werk Force brewing is a quick 20 minute ride south in Plainfield and they usually have some unique stuff on as well. There are many others close by as well (Two Brothers 10 Minutes, Alter 15 Minutes, Noon Whistle is about 20 minutes)

For Dinner in Naperville, Im a big fan of Empire in downtown Naperville. Its a burger joint and their food has always been awesome when Ive gone. Empire also usually has a solid taplist. For more of a sports bar type place, I'd recommend Crosstown. Real solid wings and a usually decent taplist as well. Then You have Jimmys right downtown Naperville too. They always have a good beer list. I dont eat there often but when I have the food has been decent...but Im easy to please lol. Honestly there is quite a bit to do around here and countless places to eat so it all depends on what you are in the mood for.
