My father in law is making a trip down to Clemson this weekend and offered to pick me up some SC beer. So I'm asking a few things... 1. What would be some easier to find local beers I could ask him to pick up? I'm a fan of most styles, but partial to stouts and sours 2. Where in Clemson should I tell him to go for these local beers? Thanks!
Tiger quick mart and wall of beer are probably your best options. As far as local beers I know they get Quest, and Westbrook But not sure what else. If you're from Michigan then some of the Georgia and NC beers should be worth a try too.
I hear that there plenty of bottles of Squeezed Dabo Tears....You can probably get them anywhere around Clemson...It's one of the best sours of the year....Extremely Bitter....But The Overconfidence and Arrogance that comes from it you would think it was a Gold Medal Winner! Alas it starts out extremely promising but falls off on the finish...crumbling. Sorry...just saw Clemson in the thread and couldn't resist
Thanks for the beer store recommendations! So what are some of the CCB and Terrapin beers that make it up to SC? I'm really just trying to get as much info as possible to make it easy for my father in law, since he is doing me the favor.
CCB not in SC just yet, but soon we hear. All terrapin makes it. Right now, you can probably find WnB, Moo-Hoo, and Liquid Bliss, as well as some other seasonal, lighter stuff.
Clemson Alum here and Wall of Beer is definitely the place to go. Only place with a vast selection in Clemson, but it is overpriced. If he's coming in via I-85, tell him to check out Scrooge's right at the Clemson exit 19. It's technically in Anderson, but it's on the way.
If you have to be in Clemp's Son, then I would recommend wearing overalls and fake teeth (gnarled and browned) in order to fit in. Also, don't ever, ever, ever wear white...as late night you could be mistaken for a sheep and would be in for a long night with the locals...my advice, stay clear! Go Cocks...
I thought for sure CCB was in SC! Oh well. So would Foothills Sexual Chocolate make its way to Clemson area?
Wall of Beer typically gets limited release items, but they sell out fast. It just hit Greenville this week, so it should make its way soon if it hasn't already.
