i am gonna post in Mountain forum but figured if any locals could make a few recommendations. Going to Denver for Bears game next week, Saturday through Tuesday. Looks like we are staying border between Capital Hill and Lincoln Park. Four of us looking for good breweries or beer bars in that area. Walkable or Uber. Thanks

Hey @Palos , if you're posting in Mountain/Denver thread, that's the place to be. But I'd put in votes for TRVE, Cerebral, Fiction, Comrade and Bierstadt (Lagerhaus) depending on your tastes... or you can stick downtown and still be well served. Fallingrock is also a great, great tap room if you don't want to have to travel every where to try new stuff. Have fun! Cheers to @GuyFawkes - good assist!

Cerebral, Fiction, and and Comrade all solid recommendations. I'm also a fan of Station 26 and Hogshead.

Aside from the breweries, as @eppCOS mentioned, Falling Rock Tap House is a must. Usually the best (or one of) tap lists in Denver, plus year round Pliny on their hidden menu!

I've had a revelation on my last two trips (to Portland ME and San Francisco CA)...a well curated "beer bar" is worth 10 breweries to an out-of-town traveler. All, or at least most, of the best stuff collected in one spot with a knowledgeable staff to guide you.

I don't have any Denver knowledge, but the fact that this place has come up twice already tells me you might get your best bang for your buck (aka time) here, @Palos

I go to Denver 2-3x a year to visit family. My favorites are Cerebral and Crooked Stave. As previously mentioned, it's nice finding some Russian River stuff out there.

Definitely some fun distro out there. When I was there in June the first store we hit had an array of Russian River and bottles of Sump. Go figure. Also, Mr. B's in The Stanley had Casey bottles last I went.

We are staying in an Air bnb, is that area decent for things to do? Planning on college football on Saturday, Bears game Sunday and Rockies game Monday. Lots of water on Tuesday

I visit Denver alot and I echo all the above and add Finn's Manor to your "must visit". They consistently have one of the best taplists in Denver. Its a super cool place in the RiNo neighborhood so its easy to hit Ratio and Our Mutual Friend brewpubs nearby. Finn's space, partially outside, they have semi permanent food trucks and a second bar outside pouring rare bottles like Casey, Black Project, Westbound and Down. Id definitely hit Finn's instead of Falling Rock if youre pressed for time. Highly recommended.

If you are coming from Chicagoland then Denver doesn't have great breweries. There. I said it.

Go to Freshcraft or Falling Rock Tap to sample some of the local beers and try stuff from non-local places we don't have access to. That's the best bet if you just want good beer.

There are plenty of decent breweries there with outdoor seating to experience the Mile High outdoor experience where the atmosphere of sitting outdoors on a patio in sunny Colorado weather makes up for the solid, but average beer being served.

I haven't been to Station 26, but their stuff in distro is solid that a trip to their physical location might be worthwhile. If you can swing a trip to Greely then Weldwerks should be worth it.

Bierstadt, Hogs Head, Comrade, Cerebral and Crooked Stave are all better than any brewery in Chicago. There. I said it.

And I don’t live in either place but visit both several times a year.

Monday would be your best bet to hit up Falling Rock then, its only a half block away from Coors Field.

Make sure to drink some Bellyslide Wit at Coors Field. If you don't already know, you'll find out soon enough, but it's the unpasteurized original recipe Blue Moon, and it's pret-ty pret-ty good.
